I got this you for a 4 year old boy and he loved it! After many years of use it still looks like brand new, durable high-quality materials. It's a toy drill, bolts, and board that can be used to make countless designs. I like that it also has an educational aspect with making designs, counting the bolts, etc. Very easy to use also, no trouble moving the bolts around or putting them in the board. Another thing that was really cool is the drill actually works like a very safe kid version of an actual drill. It can put the bolts in or put it in reverse to take them out. This toy has come in handy keeping my 3 1/2 year old son busy on some rainy days. I like that it is helping him build his fine motor skills and recognize patterns. The power drill is a good size and pretty light, so it is easier for him to handle than one we have from another tool set. The screwdriver is actually his favorite tool; I taught him righty tighty, left loosey, which he thinks is pretty hilarious. The wrench hasn't gotten much use, but I appreciate that the set has several options. The clear base and colorful plastic bolts add to the appeal of this set. However, I do wish that the pattern cards slid into the base or were secured somehow. My son will sometimes push or pick up the base while he's playing, and since the pattern card just sits under the base, it has to be realigned. * Note: I received this product for free, but opinions are 100% my own. ... show more

The kids recieved this brand new toy from Educational Insights! This may be a new favorite in our home! From the 2 year olds to the 8 year old and all my kids in between, they all have had so much fun playing and making designs! The Design & Drill See-Through Creative Workshop comes with the base piece, many double sided templates, a bunch of colored screws, various hand tools and a battery powered drill with interchangeable bits. So fun! It is high quality and well made. Kids can use a template or make their own design. I like that it inspires creativity and helps kids with their fine motor skills.     • Real power drill to create design on a workbench with colored bolts
The workbench toy comes with a battery powered drill with 3 different bit (flat tip, Philip, and socket) and a wench to screw in the various colored bolts. There are 120 bolts in 5 different colors. There is 5 double sized activity cards for the kid to place under the clear board. Activity sheet are either pictures or patterns. You can also create your own picture or pattern. The power drill takes 3 AA batteries. This toy is intended for 3 years and up. Our 4 year old had a great time using the activity sheets to follow and then created his own designs. It took him a little practice not to over-screw the bolts with the power drill. He loves the power drill the most and being able to switch out the bits. You can screw the bolt and then switch to reverse to take out the bolts also using the power drill. Negatives for this toy it was a bit pricey and the age range would be 3-4 as older kids would easily get bored unless there were more activity sheets included. ... show more
