  • Best tennis shoe ever
Size: 8.5 Wide Color: White
I have been waiting for over a decade for a manufacturer to make a tennis(running) shoe that fit my Neanderthal foot. This is a perfect fit! It also is wide enough for my toes and has no heel drop. Kind of funny to look at but that is because I am so familiar with a Saucony or a Addias. I will get over that very quickly as my feet are singing the praises of this shoe. Every shoe I have bought from Whitin has been good quality at an affordable price.....the only shoe I now own that is not a Whitin is my Belleville Mini mil army boots that look like they came out of the same last. ... show more

  • Great design, comfort and price
Size: 8.5 Wide Color: Black
I was desperate to find trendy barefoot shoes for my sporty teenager, shoes he would dare to wear to school every day. I'm very happy to have been able to find them because the design is more like classic shoes. The fairly thick outsole offers a good transition between conventional and barefoot shoes and is ideal for sports. My 15 years old son wears these shoes daily (with toespacers) and is still very happy! The shoes offer enough room for the toes. Barefoot Whitin shoes please come to Amazon in Europe as the shipping costs are rather high from the US for us. ... show more

  • Fits like a glove but..
Size: 8.5 Wide Color: Grey
I've had these shoes for almost a month. I bought them because I walk a lot in the evenings (2-3 mile walks with dog). I was looking a for a form fitting shoe that was ideally zero drop and these had good reviews. The shoes are form fitting, very light, and provide comfortable walking. Based on reviews and guidance when ordering I ordered my actual size (8.5W). I will say they are true to size if wearing very thin or no socks. I typically wear wool socks every day and keep them on after work. Although not super thick, the socks make for a snug fit in these shoes and don't necessarily let my feet breath the way I would like. Kind of makes for slightly uncomfortable wearing. However when I switch to thinner socks the shoes fit and function exactly as I hoped. My work shoes are 8.5 wide and fit well with wool socks. These shoes are 8.5 wide but require thin socks for the best fit for me. December Update: These shoes stretched or became more form fitting on my feet. Right now they feel less snug and are extremely comfortable. They are made with very light breathable material so wind and moisture cut right through them. They are truly minimalist shoes (i.e. not a lot of foot protection). With that said, they are great for exercising, walking, running, and wearing in the house but I would suggest something more substantial if you are hiking or doing heavy yard work. ... show more

  • Quickly became my favorite
Size: 12 Wide Color: White
I own two pair of Xero shoes, which I love for weight training, but not so much for everyday wear on hard surfaces. These shoes are comfortable and have the zero drop heel and wide toe box I love. More cushioning for runners but I’m not a runner. However, the extra cushion is just what I want for walking around campus, going shopping, or walking with the family. They look good, too. They feel durable for my purposes, but will leave it to runners to rate them for that purpose. ... show more

  • Great transitional shoes to barefoot shoes.
Size: 11 Wide Color: White
As soon as I put them on the first thing I thought was “my toes are free!!” So much room. Wider toe box is noticeable but it is a wide toe box shoe. Overall great design. Slight cushion not as much as regular shoes or “Hokas, ASICS’s etc…” I purposely got these as my entry to barefoot shoes because of the slight cushion. Soft, light material. Freeing in toes and foot but snug enough for where the won’t fly off. Definitely measure foot and go 0.5 inch up. For $40 these are a great buy. I will be doing plyometrics in class for another 10 weeks, if I don’t make an edit to the review you can assume they are safe and work well for plyometrics. ... show more

  • Disappointing.
Size: 13 Wide Color: Green
I’m relatively disappointed in these for two main reason. Note that I am the owner of a few pairs of Whitin shoes and multiple other barefoot brands, so this isn’t a non-informed post. 1). Sizing is at least a size larger than other Whitin shoes. Not a bad thing just frustrating. 2). While the soul looks like it is padded and comfortable, it is not. It is also not barefoot. It feels as if you’re walking on a hard ‘plank’ VS other Whitin shoes which actually feel barefoot(ish). Frankly, these are pretty uncomfortable and rigid - almost like they tried to keep the appearance of a normal sneaker but stopped short of comfort, and also missed on ground feel. It’s trying to be both barefoot while also a normal sneaker and failed at both. If you want something that looks like it has a thick soul and also feels pretty good, don’t buy these - go buy Altra. If you want something that is actually barefoot feel, don’t buy these - look elsewhere. ... show more

  • Super comfortable.
Size: 12 Wide Color: Grey
I tried on a lot of shoes, including Keens, Salomon, Adidas, trying to find easy walking shoes with a wide toe box. Sent them all back because they were stiff or had plastic parts rubbing my feet. These were much cheaper and were comfortable out of the box. Not a lot of padding in the sole, but I didn’t buy these for running. Like the red soles, too. I’ve had them two months, and they are holding up pretty well, but I’ve started noticing some loosening of some threads on both sides see pic. No big deal yet. Overall, very satisfied so far. ... show more

  • Looks good for the price. Runs large
Size: 10 Wide Color: Black White
I purchased a pair of canvas sneakers from Within and I like them overall. These however use different sizing. I ordered a 10 and they are at least an 11. A full inch longer than the other pair of shoes I bought from Within. That being said, I returned them and I'm waiting for a smaller size. the quality for the price seems good at first glance. When trying them on I'd say the cushioning is on the firmer side compared to other running shoes. ... show more
