It is a very nice rug, but.. It does not stay in place, it does not vacuum well, and Ive washed it each week and the rug is starting to show wear like Ive had it for years. This would be great for a bathroom that does not have high usage.

I had no idea how hard it would be finding a 100% cotton, dense, bath mat. I have one that I bought at least a decade ago from like a JCPenney or something, and it's finally starting to fall apart. I never thought I wouldn't easily be able to find a replacement. How wrong I was! Everything out there is microfiber or a blend, shaggy or chenille (yuck), and all have non-skid rubber backings on them, nothing at all like I wanted. I just wanted a simple, thick, cotton bath mat that I can use to cover the floor to keep it from getting wet after bathing, and then hang over the side of the tub to dry. Finally I found these. Who knew I'd be buying Eddie Bauer bath mats but, here we are. I wish they came in darker colors but that's a small complaint - I was pleasantly surprised that it's a set of two, one "regular" (compared to my existing mat, anyway) mat and one eensy cute one. I have a very small bathroom so they're both great - the small one is still plenty big to step on after a shower and the large one is actually very slightly smaller than my old mat and fits in the space even better than the old one did. They're exactly what I was looking for in composition, perfect thickness and absorbency. They wash and dry perfectly, and I don't have to worry about rubber or plastic in my clothes dryer. The 100% cotton material has a soft feel and absorbs well, but note that the stripe in the design and rectangular shape will not be nearly as plush and straight as with synthetic fiber rugs. Picture more like laying down a tufted towel, which is what I expected from 100% cotton. Also as some others noted, the backside of the shorter area rugs don't have a non-slip artificial coating which is also what I wanted. This rug is not comfortable or plush at all to step on. It's not a bed of nails or anything, but it's not at all a luxurious bathroom addition. I would be happy just with the look - it does look very nice - but it gets SO dirty so fast. It seems to attract every piece of dust or hair and looks very messy, very quickly.
