Trekking and hiking boots ECCO is a European shoe company founded in Denmark in 1963. Today they own and operate factories throughout Europe and Asia. Purchased these through ECCO, ran small and the soles have been changed from the original ECCO biom hike styles. Sent these right back to ECCO as not near the comfort with the change in soles. Don't waste your $ on these. I purchased a pair of the lower top boots in this style last year and wish I would have never kept them. ... show more

    • Ecco soles disintegrate prematurely
I owned four pairs of Ecco shoes, bought within a 2 year time frame, based on fit, comfort, and style. At that point, all the soles started to spontaneously break down - cracking in half, or breaking into pieces. That's despite there being minimal wear to the soles, hardly any wear to the uppers, and no harsh usage such as chemicals or standing water. The final pair was a $200+ pair of winter boots. The soles started leaking oily residue; when I tried to walk in them, the entire heel broke off. Ecco's proprietary sole materials are inexcusably poor quality, incredible for shoes this expensive. Get Vibram soles instead - don't waste your money on Ecco, no matter how solid or well-made they might look in the store. ... show more
