  • Great polisher but an even better disc sander for woodworking and stripping paint
At first I wasn't sure how much I'd actually use this, waxing my car isn't a very high priority for me, but I thought it might come in handy for some carpentry and restoration work here and it sure does. The disc sander quickly became my favorite sander for cleaning up old exterior wood that has become weathered and distressed. It brings it back to looking like it's brand new, quick and easy. I also have a cordless belt sander, and another thin cordless belt sander, and an orbital sander, and this disc sander puts them all to shame, it's so much faster and gives a nice even surface, unlike the sanding flap discs I've tried in my angle grinder, which tend to create a more irregular / non-flat surface. But polishing is involved in woodworking a lot, too, so even if it doesn't polish my car that often, it will definitely polish wood I'm treating with wax sealant. The effect isn't as visible as on a car body, but it's good for the wood for the polish to really get worked into the grain, and this does a great job of that. The variable speed selection works great, I usually run it high for sanding and lower for polishing. There's a ton of different attachments and heads you can put on this included. Foam pads, cloth pads, sanding discs, and little caps you can fit over them later to keep any wax on them from making a mess in the included soft case. It works great with my Milwaukee-compatible third party battery, which is 18v 9ah, getting a pretty good amount out of each battery. That said, it goes through batteries rather fast, so try to have some extras charged up for big jobs. There is a low-battery disconnect protection I can see in effect, that's to protect your battery from over-discharge. So if it stops due to low charge, and you notice there's still a bar or two left, I'd recommend not trying to get every last bit out of the charge and go recharge / swap batteries instead. There's also a safety system I've noticed where if the wheel gets jammed into a corner or obstructed in some way that would damage the wheel or what you're working on, it stops the motor immediately. That's great, happened a couple times when I would sand into inside corners between two pieces of wood. It's definitely better it shut down there, even though the motor has plenty more power to force it's way through, otherwise it might kickback or damage something. I'm attaching a photo of my front handrail, a bit of exterior wood construction that was here when I moved in, and it's solid enough but it's always looked kind of weathered and old, and there were a lot of splinters. Using the disc sander attachment, I got that 20 year old wood looking brand new, and then the polishing wheel made it easy to finish the wax sealant after I rubbed it in with a rag and let it sit for an hour. ... show more

  • Solid Cordless Polisher for Milwaukee Users
Solid Cordless Polisher for Milwaukee Users If you're already using Milwaukee M18 batteries, this cordless polisher is an easy addition to your detailing tools. Being able to swap in a battery you already own means no extension cords to drag around the vehicle or across the garage floor. The brushless motor has plenty of power for polishing, waxing, and light paint correction, while the seven variable speed settings make it easy to match the tool to the job. The larger 7-inch backing plate covers more surface area than smaller polishers, which helps speed up work on larger vehicles like trucks and SUVs. One important thing to know before buying is that this does not use the standard 5/8"-11 threaded spindle found on most polishers and angle grinders. Instead, it uses a 9/16-inch output shaft, so standard polishing pads, backing plates, wire wheels, abrasive discs, and other common grinder accessories will not fit. While the tool has the power and speed of a conventional polisher, you're essentially limited to the included accessories or compatible 9/16-inch replacements. I wasn't able to determine how readily available those replacement accessories are, so that's something to consider before purchasing. The kit comes with a nice assortment of polishing pads and accessories, plus a storage bag to keep everything together. I also liked having both the side handle and top handle available, making the tool easier to control during longer polishing sessions. Just remember this is a bare tool, so you'll need compatible Milwaukee M18 batteries and a charger if you don't already own them. Overall, this is a capable cordless polisher with good performance and a generous accessory kit, but the non-standard spindle size is an important limitation that buyers should understand before investing in additional polishing accessories. ... show more

  • Some Cheap Parts, But Overall Works Well if You Have The Correct Batteries
This cordless car buffer, also apparently an orbital sander, is kind of the middle of the pack in terms of pricing, neither the most expensive nor the cheapest. It really is most effective if you already have the 18V Milwaukee batteries that it is compatible with. The on/off button, really a simple kind of plastic toggle, feels cheap and delicate, but it works and can be locked in place “always” on. Once on, the buffer does a nice job shifting through different speeds with the wheel on the base, although this does require you to take a hand off the tool, and so while it works perfectly fine to do so, they do recommend turning it off first… but gear changes do work while it’s running. The tool itself feels solid and heavy in your hand, though the optional handles are a bit cheap. Included are large sanding pads that seem to be 80 grit sandpaper. I have no intention of sanding my car, and I confess that I am not sure what the purpose of including it is, other than to offer a car polishing tool another use. I tested the sanding pads on some spare wood, and that works ok as well. ... show more

  • Excellent performance and build quality but you judge on the pricing
I review a ton of cordless power tools, and this one is a stand out. Nice ergonomic design to be able to get good control of the buffer head, plenty of power and excellent build quality. That isn’t from a cursory inspection of the tool. I really put it through its paces. I was literally unable to stall the motor, putting probably five times the pressure you’d never put one for buffing. The metal parts upfront made the tool plenty robust and a hard plastic shell and handle the thick and the molding was excellent. I don’t think you could go wrong with this one except one major caveat.- it is priced pretty high. For sure it’s like 40% less than a namebrand like DeWalt (Milwaukee doesn't make one in this style) but there are other non-branded buffers which look identical in the $89 range. Since I don’t have one of those in hand, I can’t make an educated assessment of value, so I won’t hold it against this tool in my rating of five stars. ... show more

  • good for occasional DIY detailing
The Ecarke 7‑Inch Cordless Car Buffer Polisher is a solid mid‑tier option if you already run Milwaukee M18 batteries. The brushless motor delivers decent power, and the 7 variable speeds give enough control for light polishing, waxing, and quick touch‑ups. It’s comfortable to hold, and the included 16‑piece accessory kit is convenient for beginners. Where it falls short is consistency and refinement. At higher speeds, the tool can feel a bit unbalanced, and the 6000 RPM max is fine for casual use but not strong enough for heavier correction work. The build quality is okay, but not on par with premium polishers .Overall, it’s good for occasional DIY detailing, but it’s not the most polished or powerful option in its class. ... show more

  • Many accessories included.
Was quite surprised when I first opened this up because there are allot of accessories. You can sand - you can polish. Multi grip styles to fit your needs. Uses a Milwaukee style M18 battery which is not a real common style around here but can still be purchased separately. Would have been nice if it came with one battery and a charger but I understand this would add significantly to the cost. ... show more

  • Addition to My Milwaukee Tools
I already have several Milwaukee M18 batteries in my garage, so this polisher was an easy choice. It works great with my existing batteries and saves me from buying another battery system. I used it on my truck and motorcycle, and the cordless design makes it much easier to move around. Plenty of power for weekend detailing projects. ... show more

  • Great for Milwaukee Battery Owners and DIY Detailing
This cordless car polisher is a convenient option for anyone who already has Milwaukee 18V batteries and wants to handle detailing without dragging out an extension cord. Its brushless motor, 7-inch pad, and seven adjustable speed settings give you flexibility for waxing, polishing, and light paint correction. I found the rubber grip on the body comfortable to hold, and should be when using it for longer jobs. It also didn’t feel underpowered—the motor had enough power to handle polishing and buffing without feeling like it was struggling. The included 16-piece accessory set is a nice bonus because you can switch between pads for different jobs instead of buying everything separately. Just keep in mind that this is a tool-only unit, so the Milwaukee-compatible battery and charger are not included. For best results, start at a lower speed to spread polish or wax, then work your way up as needed. The cordless design is especially helpful for detailing in a driveway or other areas where an outlet is not close by. ... show more
