I use this with a micro needling pen,At first i thought it wasnt working because the numbing feeling wasnt too strong.. on 2nd time, i decided to only use in on half of my face since i was skeptical from my first try. I can tell at this time, that the product actually working.. -wash your face with your facewash and dry -apply the numbing cream and wait atleast 30 minutes. -use a damp face towel to get rid of the cream before using the microneedle/dermapen. Had plans to get my entire knee tattooed. Put a healthy amount of this stuff on and wrapped my knee in plastic about 2 hours before my appointment. Didn’t feel any burning or itching sensations like you can get with some lidocaine creams. Went in, they started the tattoo and when I tell you I was shocked, I WAS SHOCKED. My tattoo lasted roughly 3.5 hours and up until the last half hour I had hardly any pain or sensation in my knee, right down to the black work. For $17 this stuff is a great deal! There was obviously still some pain, as it is a tattoo however I don’t think I would have been able to sit through it in one session in that spot without this. ... show more

Purchase this to see if it helps numb the pain when being tattooed. It worked well for about 1.5 hours but after that I had to suck it up. I reapplied and waited about 30 minutes but it had little to no effect for the rest of the sitting. Method of Use: Applied heavy layer approx 4 hours ahead of time; wrapped in saran-wrap; cleaned off just before starting. There was no negative effect with regard the ink. The tattoo, colors and lines, looks great. Going for sitting #2 and will definitely be applying before. If this worked for the entire time (4 hours) it would be great. ... show more

I bought this for a tattoo and was surprised to find it was so small. I had assumed the bottle would of been a bit bigger but was the size of a medium to large pill bottle. I only let it sit for 20-30 mins and it didn't work but was ok with my pain tolerance. Highly suggest trying it out before doing whatever you bought it for be that tattoos or being poked for ivs or blood draws but probably needed 30-1 hr . ... show more

Okay, full estimated timeline. My tattoo appointment was at 12 and I was getting three small tattoos: one on my front shoulder/chest area, one on the inside of my forearm, and another on the outside of my calf. I think around 9:30, I applied an icing-on-the-cake like layer of this to all of those areas and wrapped them in saran wrap. About an hour later, I removed the saran wrap, added another layer, and then re-wrapped them. The other reviews were right, it lasts for about a couple of hours. The consultation lasted from 12-12:30 and we got started around 12:30. For the first, smaller tattoo on my shoulder/chest, I didn't feel a thing. That one took approximately 15 minutes. It felt like she was just running her finger on my skin. Starting around 12:50, the majority of the next tattoo on my inner forearm lasted around 30 minutes and it felt like she was drawing on my skin with a mechanical pencil. After that, especially when it got closer to the inside of my elbow, I started to feel it a bit more. By the time that we got to the calf tattoo, I think the ointment pretty much ran out of time, because it hurt. I don't know if it still helped a little bit because they were my first tattoos, but I would probably apply it closer to the appointment time to account for the consultation and everything. I'll do my next one without the ointment just to see, but I'll definitely be using this again for the bigger tattoos I have planned and I can't wait! ... show more

Put the cream on thick about two hours before my tattoo and wrapped my stomach in plastic wrap. Added another layer of cream about an hour before and wrapped it again. Felt absolutely NOTHING for the lines. I genuinely thought my artist (@yourfriendpat) was just holding his machine above my stomach at first - that’s how nothing I felt. 4 stars because i wish it lasted just a bit longer. Granted, I got a pretty big tattoo on a gnarly area, but I was loving life while the cream was working. Didn’t try to reapply after lines, but might next time. In all, the numbness lasted probably an hour or a little more. Definitely using this again for the other side of my stomach. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I got my foot tatted a few years back and learned my lesson from getting work done on bone without numbing cream. First time trying this product and I must say I am impressed. It definitely took a lot longer to kick in than advertised. Mine did not really start working until about two hours after the application. I also feel like it worked faster when I removed the saran wrap. Aside from that, it definitely made this piece a lot easier. Only parts that really hurt were the areas I did not put cream on since the piece ended up being a little bigger than expected. The areas that I used the cream on were relatively pain free (i used ALOT on the wrist area and i didnt feel any pain at all!) definitely a must have for future tattoos! ... show more
