Our Basset Hound puppy did not find this shed tool scary like he has the other tools AND it removed SO. MUCH. HAIR! I suggest using it outside. I think I removed two dogs' worth of hair in twenty minutes! It is a very simple device, looks like a saw blade in a block of wood, but this design is flawless. Easy to hold, easy to use. We have two cats (both DSH) and two dogs (one boxer mix, one lab mix). All four of them shed like crazy year-round. I bought this after seeing a groomer on YouTube use it in one of their videos, hoping it would cut down on some of the shedding. It works great for both cats and the boxer mix dog, who has short hair. It really gets that undercoat out...and a lot of it! Both cats love it, despite one of them hating being brushed before, but the dog only tolerates it. Their coats are looking even healthier, with less dead skin and a glossing sheen. The only downside is that it didn't work particularly well for our lab mix, who has longer, thick hair. ... show more

OK, I never take the time to leave Amazon reviews, but this thing just came and HOLY MOLY, GAME-CHANGER. I've tried a lot of brushes on my dog, including the very expensive Furminator, and none of them hold a candle to this thing! My boy's a Pit mix, with a coat rather like a labrador retriever, including a fine undercoat. His shedding isn't insane but it's not light either. I have never had a brush work so effectively, particularly on the undercoat. It pulled a TON of hair off and I feel like we're just getting started! My dog also doesn't like to be brushed, so past brushing sessions have to happen kind of sneakily, in short sessions before he gets ticked and uncooperative. But this? He seems entirely unbothered by it, and maybe begrudgingly kind of likes it. He laid there patiently and didn't seem to be in any discomfort whatsoever. All of this, PLUS the brush is high-quality and definitely seems made to last. I like how simple the design is and it's comfortable to hold, and I really like that it isn't just a bunch of bright plastic/rubber parts. The wood is really very nice. It may have taken 5 years, but we finally found out brush! Can't recommend highly enough! ... show more

    • Works when nothing else does!

This brush works when no other brush has for my short hair pitty mix. We’ve tried a variety of brushes and this is the only one that ever gets any hair off of her. She really likes it when we get an area that we haven’t gotten in a while. I can tell because she instantly stretches and her eyes get that look of bliss. It’s super easy to grip and use. Just make sure you have a bag to collect the hair in so it doesn’t get everywhere. I wipe it down with a soft cloth to clean it off when it gets dirty especially after she’s rolled in the dirt but otherwise I just pull the hair off the comb and keep going. We opted for the 5” brush to reach all areas on my dog easier. I was pleasantly surprised that it’s made of wood which makes it very light to hold. ... show more

I never write reviews, but this was just delivered today, and I am shocked. I’ve used lots of different combs, brushes, supplements and none of them really worked. I have labradors, spaniels, and cats. This thing worked on all of them, and all of them enjoyed it. Normally, I’m chasing them trying to brush them or the dogs are trying to bite at whatever is in my hand. But about 10 seconds into using this, each animal laid down and enjoyed being brushed.     • Really pulls out hair, w/o the cat or bunny minding

It’s very effective. I’m not sure how I can be brushing every day and still be getting piles of fur. Thought it would calm down a bit. The cat sits still for it, but grumbles about her back end. Loves it on her head and neck and under chin. Main body also fine, but she’s less fond of it, compared to her head and neck bliss. As she’s not cleaning her back end well, there are a few small mats near the top of her legs. This doesn’t work well on those. The bunny also enjoys this brush. Better than the Kong brush. He’s never appreciated that too much, unless he’s trying to nibble the spikes. ... show more
