I bought this recliner cover to replace one that had been abused through normal wear and tear (including 2 cats and a few rambunctious granddogs). I was expecting this one only to last long enough to get the chair reupholstered. I have now had it over two years, and it has held up amazingly well. The reason for this review is because for the last few months this cover has been subjected to the violence of a young kitten, who bites and/or claws at it regularly. However, there are no bite marks, claw scratches, or tears in the material. In addition, it mostly stays in place. I only have to adjust the corners once in a while when she gets a little feisty with it. As far as fit goes, it fits my glider/rocker/recliner quite well. It's not perfect, but looks good enough that my daughter-in-law at first thought it was the original chair, not a cover. Photos were taken at the time of this review, and include the guilty party! This cover has been worth every penny I paid for it. Thank you for a product that lives up to its hype.

"Leather" recliners these days are made with cheap faux leather that peels. This appears to be exactly the same thing. A thin, leather-type material glued to a stretchy cloth backing just like the original upholstery on the recliner. However, for the price, it is a satisfactory temporary fix so you don't have to have the recliner reupholstered or purchase a new one. I smells HORRIBLE when you take it out of the box. I had to put it out on the front porch for a day and let it air out. It is very stretchy just like the description. It stretches to a smooth, shiny appearance. It is not that hard to put on. One person can put it on, however you do have to turn the chair on it's side to get the arms fully covered. It is like a fitted sheet basically. Elastic all around the bottom edge. If you don't have a recliner that the foot release is down near the bottom of the chair on the right side then it is awkward. It is made for those chairs that have a pull-back wooden lever. Not a release that is more toward the top of the arm of the chair. We'll see how this lasts. If you don't attach the straps on the seat part, it will go BOING on you. It's all stretched very tightly when you get done. This is NOT designed for oversized chairs. This is for a standard sized, low-back chair.

It’s awful, returning it, smells terrible too. I mean what was I really expecting? I would rather keep the grandpa look to this recliner than have it look like it is ready for an inappropriate video.

One of our recliners had some tears in the leather, so I bought this to cover them. Installation was very challenging. You may have to reposition and stretch the cover several times until it fits, but if you do it right, the cover looks just like the original leather. I had trouble stretching the seat cushion so that the elastic edge band fit over the bottom lip at the back of the seat. It took some effort and a lot of stretching, but once it snapped into place it held perfectly. I like the long elastic straps that can, and should be wrapped and tied around a hooking point under the recliner. They hold the cover tight for a good fit and keep it from slipping loose. I didn't use them at first, but after having the cover over the back and foot pad work loose, I realized they are essential to guaranteeing a tight and permanent fit. We have La-Z-Boy rocking recliners, which have arm rests that are padded and stick out on the sides, so the slip cover hangs straight down on the sides rather than fitting tightly around the arm rests, however, it looks perfectly fine. It just changes the look of the recliner slightly. I am so impressed by the look of the recliner with the cover on it. I honestly cannot tell that it is not the original leather. The color is a very close match to the recliner right next to it. It is now a year later, and I have found that the the durability is poor, so I am editing my review and dropping my rating from five stars to three. The leather began to peel away exposing the cloth under liner at about one year of use. This happened on the seat and backrest. It wasn't just a few small spots, it was large areas about 12 x 12 inches or more. I suppose it is still an okay value since a $50.00 investment once a year is still cheaper than replacing the recliner, or having it reupholstered. But, in good conscience, I cannot give it five stars. For about $50.00 (with tax) I saved a perfectly good recliner for a fraction of the cost to have it reupholstered, or replaced. I am a very tough critic, so it is difficult to get good ratings from me. I recommend this product with the warning that it is not durable.

Purchased 3 years ago for mismatched recliners in our camper. They still look great and have endured heavy use. Stretched to fit different shaped recliners making living room seem more matched. Soft comfortable to sit in. Wine color is very nice. Have stood. up to heavy use and still look great after 3 years. We did tack to wood frame a few places to help them stay where they are supposed to be Would purchase again
