  • SURFACE CONDITIONING TOOL: The Eastwood Contour SCT is a heavy-duty professional quality tool ruggedly designed for many years of reliable service. Ready for surface conditioning or any paint or rust stripping project, it features a drum guard enclosure and a rigidly mounted "D" handle for maximum safety. A high-torque, ball bearing supported motor and hardened spur gears provide smooth operation and long life. Speed is easily controlled via a 6 position rotary knob and ON/OFF trigger control.
  • HOW TO USE: Set desired motor speed by rotating the Speed Knob located on the top surface of the Motor Housing. While holding the Contour SCT securely in two hands, depress the On-Off switch with forefinger. To lock the On-Off switch in the ON position, depress the On-Off switch then push in the Lock Button located above the switch on the left side of the Handle. Keep the broad work surface of the Drum parallel to the work surface. Always use two hands while operating tool.

I bought this to refinish heavily oxidated aluminum. It works like a charm. I was worried the expensive drums would wear out fast but no they last a really long time. There are several other makes on the this marketplace but i guarantee few compare to this one. Rpm and amps are all blah blah blah until you actually dig in with a tool like this. Then you see what it can do and let me tell you this thing powers right though. Highly recommend using with sleeveless shirt, on a heavy/achored material. I bought this with the wire brush to clean a stack of barn wood from a barn I was taking down. When it arrived, I was surprised by the weight. This thing is heavy! I think that means it frame and interior parts contain very little plastic--probably all metal gearing although I did not take it apart. I used it for about fours hours continuously. Never faltered! I got the work done in the time referenced. It would have taken me at least 40 hours to do this job with a hand held wire brush and not done as well. This was, however, the dirtiest job I have done in years. Dust everywhere. I used a rare N950 face mask here instead of wearing it to shop. Covid-19 could not be more dangerous than the mess I was making. Anyway, ir did a great job even though I may never use it again. ... show more

It was packed well for shipping. I’m an older women, and this is easy to use. Also, it’s easy to change the drum. It strips the finish off the wood without gouging. I’m using the 40 grit abrasive drum. It’s far better than using sandpaper which tears and clogs. Goes over nails and imperfections perfectly without damage to the drum. I’m refinishing a deck. It is recommended to use a 16 gauge , 25 ft power cord (not longer). Great tool! ... show more

My only criticism is that it comes with one type of abrasive. Hey, maybe that's harsh, but the cherry on top would be a small various assortment, maybe two more types of abrasives. I'm trying to do something very specific with this tool, and now it's going to be a guessing game. I'm already locked into using the abrasives you supply. I was amazed at what this tool could do in a little time, so far I've restored an old lumberjack saw to show room condition to hang on my wall, also sanded/ burnished a aluminum fuel tank, ready for polishing.
