These arrived well packed and seemed solid. The frame is plastic instead of wood and they are smaller than I expected, although the listing does specify the actual size so I need to read closer. One of the two instruments had the head material loose so it doesn't really work as a drum. They would be good for kids and would be lots of fun for them but for any actual instrumental use you should find another alternative.

I am a preschool teacher and I am always looking for instruments to add to our music interest area in the classroom. These looked nice, so I wanted to give them a try. 2 out of the 3 of them are good. The 3rd one the drum head is a little bit loose and not tight like it is supposed to be. It still plays, but not like the others. Otherwise, I am happy with these.

Not sure about the materials used. Product page says "leather surface" but it feels almost like a heavy paper that is translucent. The striking surface also appears to have is a grid of thin wood (?) spines as support (see Pic 1). The gripping area has an opening shaped for a 3 finger grip. In Pic 2, I've partially inserted my fingers just to reference of the size. Though I can insert them further than shown, perhaps a better, more versatile design would have been a larger opening without the finger grooves. The sound quality is okay considering I'm only using this as a casual percussion instrument

This little tambourine is just that -- little. It works fine and sounds decent but it is smaller in diameter than traditional and professional tambourines used by percussionists and its frame is made of plastic as opposed to wood which does affect its tonality. Adults may find the width of the finger hole area a little narrow but it's perfect for younger percussionists with smaller hands. With that said, it is a well made instrument that sounds good and will work for most situations calling for a tambourine.

This is a nice, not-too-loud little jingler for schools and parties or the studio, as we'll use it. I am wondering if it is real animal skin, our pets were very interested. I also found that some of the plastic edges were a little sharp, holding it with fingers through the hole on the side became uncomfortable quickly. Overall it's fine as a basic studio or kid's tambourine.

What a nice set of tambourines. Light and musical, they are a great rhythm asset. They seem delicate but they sound loud and crisp. Heavy use doesn't seem hurt them. I'm not saying throw 'em and stomp on them; treat them like an instrument, they do fine.

Sturdy little tambourine is perfect for a child to join in on the music. Its rim is made of high impact plastic and has a finger opening for little hands to hold. The drum head is a bit loose, but again it is not critical as this is basically a toy. Even without the head it would still be perfect for music. Comes in a variety of colors so that would be neat if you were buying several for a couple of children. Fun item will help you teach your child the fundamentals of rhythm and will stand up against constant use. Highly recommended and a good price point.
