Kids love making noises, as we all know. This is such a great set to foster that creativity. The set, while it is a toy, is so well-made! Each piece is a great miniature of the real thing. Even the snare drum has little chains! I'm no expert, to be sure, but the drumheads even look like miniature drumheads of the ones we had in our school band. No, it isn't an exact replica, but I think they made it as close as possible while still being durable and safe for children. The set arrived VERY quickly (one day!) and is exactly as described. I was a intimidated with assembling it, but the instructions were clear enough so that we finally got it. Giving this set to our child will have so many benefits. Of course, there are educational benefits, but also this drum set will help boost creative exploration, enhance imagination, and even build confidence. Our younger children love the feeling of "cause-and-effect" toys -- a big reason they like to make noise -- and this is a great toy to begin on the road of complex thinking. Lastly, our little one has had the experiences of being around drum sets and seeing them on videos. Giving them this junior drum set that is still so accurate (instead of a preschool-like toy) appears to help them feel so proud that they can be like the "grown-ups." Definitely a win all around; definitely five stars.

This is definitely a kids set. It is a young kids set. The sound quality isn't the greatest, but with a good ear and some tuning it isn't bad. The stool is small, but will support a small kid, maybe up to seven years old, maybe a tad younger. It is a nice set to get your kid started with. If they have any aptitude for the drums, -I am a drummer like my father and his father before him...- they will outgrow it in a hurry. The snare is "snare-ish" sounding but there is a noticeable difference between it and the tom. I recommend taking off one of the kick heads and putting a pillow or some other padding inside, then putting the head back on. Without it it sounds like you're hitting a cardboard box, with all the low end EQ'd out. For a toddler's kit to learn on, or to see if they want to play, it is a good little kit. If you're looking for a kit that you can mic up and record your five year old playing YYZ, this probably isn't the kit.

I first received the drum set thinking it is incomplete set because it looks like missing the seat cushion. I later found it hiding inside of the small drum. The seat cushion is very small. There is no instructions to assemble it, so I just assembled according to the photo. Overall, the drum set looks pretty nice. But the step drum is considered light. So when I stepped on it，it is easy to move it around due to its light weight.

This drum set it’s pretty cool even though it’s a little bit smaller than I anticipated. I know that it says that it’s for youth, but I didn’t expect it to be as small as it is, but it does its job and it sounds good. It was not too hard to put together and it sounds great, so I would recommend it if you have somebody who’s starting out learning to play the drums and they’re on the younger side.

It’s smaller than I expected but it works perfectly for our daughter. Sounds great after it’s all put together. But putting it together is a pain as the directions are not detailed so I just tried to go based off the picture in the box.
