  • Very good quality and had fun until the removable chimes got scattered in the toy box.
I bought this musical toy for my very young granddaughter. The can be removed in a novel way but there’s no apparent reason for to be removed. The tone was excellent for a toy but there’s notes, that is the part that gets struck sometimes are scattered in the toy box. All in all we had fun and we won’t return it. ... show more

  • Great educational device for one or more children
Why did you pick this product vs others?: As a former music educator, now just purchasing the item for teaching my own children, I learned that these things are quite valuable both for private and for group lessons. It is an easy instrument for introducing basic concepts in music. But the best thing about resonator bells (in contrast to basic xylophones or glockenspiels) is the fact that they are separate and removable. For private instruction, this helps to limit distractions by focusing one an isolated number of notes. For example, removing fa and ti (the 4th and 7th) creates a Pentatonic scale--which allows children to improvise without striking dissonant chords. For group lessons, this device allows you to give each child a note or set of notes, so that they can learn to work together as an ensemble. (So it work like a xylophone but also like a set of bells). This became one of my favorite tools when I taught k-12 music and I find it essential for teaching my children as well. I highly recommend--not just as an exploratory tool, but as an educational device! I purchased from this seller simply because it was the best offer I found at the time that was accurately advertised. (I had previously ordered from another seller but they sent a toy xylophone rather than the resonator bells advertised--so I am satisfied with this seller because of both fair price and accurate description). ... show more

  • Nice bells, but case arrived broken
This is a set of resonator bells in a plastic case. The bells are well tuned. While the color coding doesn’t quite match the prodigies bells, (high c is white, A is dark blue, B is purple), it’s close enough to work. The mallets are plastic and are sufficient, but nothing exciting. I will replace them with rubber head mallets in my classroom. However, both latches on the case I recieved were broken. On one side, the latching piece was broken in two, on the other side the tab to hold the latch closed was broken off. The result very much reduces the utility of the set for me, particularly in a general music setting, and I suggest the manufacturer check their quality control on the case-with a better case, this would be a 5* set. ... show more

  • Sounds Quite Excellent - Each Key Has Its Own Reverb Chamber So They Can Be Separated.
This kit is awesome. I travel with a few drums and instruments to play at beach and am happy to add this to my mix. It sounds great and the case holds all of them in a line so you can play them right in the case. The strikers are plastic but sound just fine. Wonderful that you can remove each note separately and place them as you want. Five stars and recommended! ... show more
