Features

  • VERSATILE: The Earthquake MAC is great for weeding, mixing and aerating your garden or flower bed soil.
  • LIGHTWEIGHT: Weighing in at only 24lb, the MAC is easy to transport to your garden bed and offers superior maneuverability for cultivating tasks due to the removal of the wheels and drag stake.
  • DESIGNED TO MANEUVER: The handlebar grips and handlebar tubes are positioned to give the operator greater control over where the tines go. We call this overhand control. This means less bouncing and sudden jerking when you encounter rough spots in the dirt like rocks and roots.
  • CONVENIENT: When not in use the MAC sits upright in its stable parking stance. Its designed for compact storage or ready access in the garden to resume cultivating. MAC stands at attention ready to get back to work.
  • STURDY: Its rigid U-Turn handlebar design softens vibration and gives you more control.
  • RELIABLE: With a US based support team and industry leading 5-Year Warranty, this cultivator will perform for years to come.

Description

The Earthquake MAC is great for weeding, mixing and aerating your garden or flower bed soil. Weighing in at only 24lb, the MAC can easily be transported to your garden bed. When not in use, its stable upright “parking” stance allows for compact storage. The MAC stands at attention, ready to get back to work. The grips and handlebar tubes are positioned to give you the greatest amount of control. This enables you to remove the weeds, not your plants. The rigid U-Turn handlebar design reduces vibration and gives you a greater sense of confidence in your garden. In contrast to wheeled units, the MAC allows gardeners even clearer line of sight near and around plants and makes it a superior option for those primarily interested in the cultivating function. By removing the wheels, the MAC is also lighter than wheeled counterparts which contributes to even greater maneuverability and control. With a US based support team and industry leading 5-Year Warranty, this cultivator will perform for years to come.

  • An essential for gardens of any size.
Style: MC33 33cc
This product is a good value, easy to assemble, light weight, easy to use, powerful engine, and well written documentation. I bought this because the ancient front time tiller needed about the same money's worth of parts as just buying this. I thought I needed a bigger tiller but couldn't bring myself to spend so much on a big rear time tiller that won't fit between my rows and thus would only use once a year. I thought I'd give this one a try. I am very pleased with it so far. It was pretty easy to assemble. The only thing you putting together are the handle bars. I only needed scissors to cut packaging. The bars are attached with thumb screws making it not only quick to assemble, but portable as you can quickly collapse the handle bars for transportation. The tines are reversible for more aggressive tilling. It will just through grass and sod but it takes some time as this really wasn't intended to break unfilled soil, but I found it will do it just fine if your patient. I haven't tried reversing the tines yet to see if it makes a difference, but I'm betting it would. I just didn't need to as I was only breaking up an 8 ft strip. The store description AND Ardisam website tell you this tiller is not designed to break sod or compacted soil, and is recommended for previously tilled soil. That said I don't understand why there are complaints in the review section about this. It does what it says it does and then some. I've found mine will break up sod and compacted soil, but at a very slow pace. And that's fine. It has totally exceeded my expectations. I've filled for about 2 hours and only used 1/2 tank of 40:1 premix. It takes 50:1 per the manual, but I often run a higher oil to fuel mix on a new engine's first tank to help it break in better. The only teensy tiny quam I have is with the starting instructions. If you follow the instructions it can be kind of difficult to start. I've found if you follow the instructions but also give it about half throttle while cranking it usually starts on the first pull if not, the second. Overall I am very pleased with it. I was really expecting such and inexpensive machine to be this good. It's built well, nothing was off with the build, or fit and finish. It was packed extremely well. The owners literature is great. The instructions are clear and well written. There are good illustrations too. There is a handy supplement with replacement parts diagrams and part numbers. It was easy to put together. From unboxing to running was less than 20 minutes. It even came with a bottle of 2 cycle oil and fuel stabilizer. Using it is even better. It is light enough to pick up and put in the back of a car of truck easily. It has adjustable wheels that adjust pretty easily. You may have to knock some accumulated soil from the slide to get the wheels to lock back down but this isn't that big of an issue honestly. The engine is quite powerful for it's size. I tilled my 32 by 16 ft garden in no time. It's quite easy to maneuver. Just pick it up turn it when you get into tight spots. Most of the time it pivots easily around on the tines. The adjustable drag stake is really good at keeping it from jumping around when you snag a rough patch. I can't really think of anything that I would do to improve this little guy. I'm so pleased I just bought the edger attachment. TLDR: It's a lot of bang for your buck. It's built well. It's easy to use. Have realistic expectations and you will be pleased. ... show more

  • Know what you are buying and break it in!
Style: MAC 33cc
This tiller is small. It's designed to be easily handled in small spaces, which means that that it has to be light. This means it's not going to perform like a great big arm breaker designed to till rock hard ground in a hurry. I was a little worried that it might be under-powered at first, turns out it was just the engine breaking in. It was a little reluctant to start and felt low on power on the first runs, but 2-3 heat cycles and about 30 minutes of runtime later the throttle response was way better and the power felt appropriate for the machine's size. It's built light, but it appears to be well-constructed and was super easy to set up. I used it today to till up some beds that hadn't been broken up properly in a few years and it did a fantastic job. My best advice would be to play with it for 20 minutes before attempting any serious work. It will start breaking in, and 20-30 minutes is what it takes to learn how to make a little tiller like this work for you. I did these beds by hand a couple years ago, and even with assembly and break-in time I was ahead of the game using the tiller, plus it did a much nicer job than I did. Overall I am very happy with it, and would recommend. PSA: Buy the Ethanol-free gas for your yard equipment and stop rebuilding carburetors every year! ... show more

  • Quite capable lil tiller
Style: MC33 33cc
The one pull start up is impressive! Quality seems there with no difficulty assembling. Works the ground well for its size. Don’t try to compare this to some of the larger tillers it is smaller but VERY impressive! Takes a little longer to till some dryer soils but slightly dampened soil tills fairly easily. I’ve used some larger tillers and was actually looking for something larger however upon watching some of the YouTube reviews of the tiller and given the smaller size area I had to till I thought why not I’ll try it. Extremely glad I did. Not only did I save money I also attained an awesome lil tiller. Being patient and allowing this lil tiller to do its job at the impressive pace it can handle is all you need for this fantastic tiller. Already had the talk with the wife and we both agree we would buy it again!👍🏼 If you have a smaller garden and are short on time this lil tiller is for you. If you have a larger garden within reason and have patience then this little tiller is also for you as well. If I were retired I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase this to till a 20’ X 20’ garden. It was capable of tilling where a 15 foot diameter pool sat all season and only took me one hour to till. FYI the ground was not turned by shovel what so ever. This review was based on the job it did for me that day and I do intend on putting in the 20’ X 20’ garden I mentioned and I know this tiller will handle it! Oh don’t forget to use some motorkote in the gas oil mix it sure makes it pure like a kitten. Stands to mention also that I arranged all the tiller blades in the aggressive position which is easily accomplished but it’s not shipped or at least mine was not shipped in that position. It’s a fairly easy task to accomplish. Literally no complaints here folks! ... show more

  • I love this thing
Style: MC33 33cc
I used to ride race horses so you know I must be a big guy and have no problem with front and rear tine tillers. I've had a garden for 40 years or more. They are now raised bed gardens. The "science" says don't deep till or you'll upset the ecosystem. But to get the soil nice and softy to plant you need to till to make it easy and pretty. So I bought this tiller. It takes a while to adjust the wheel height and such until you get it set to your height, strength, and intention. But when you do it works great. I can till one side of the bed, turn on a dime, and till the other side of the bed, then I hit the middle just to make it "purty". So far it starts easy and does the job I want it to. I'm glad I bought this little rascal. ... show more
