After waiting for my game to show up for 3 days only for it to never arrived, I did what any responsibly UFC fan could of done.. I drove my butt to Gamestop and picked up a copy, I was so hyped up... But then I played the game only to realize that once again EA literally did what it does best, which is to sell you a semi-complete, glitchy game that pretty much underperform in all departments... They EVEN messed up Israel Adesanya style in career mode! (he appears as a wrestler type) not to mention the letter I is missing from the alphabet when you're customizing a player stance... having said that here are the pros and cons. Pros: - Clinch dynamics are decent - YOU must develop your moves, no 5 star moves out the gate. Want a good stiff jab? work for it! - Can fight in the WFA (yet it feels horrible) lacks soul, just doesn't feel like the real deal. - Fighter moves do feel fluid and a bit less mechanical than UFC3 in my opinion. Cons: - Smallest roster ever! they even missed some ranked fighters, and most of the NR talent is also not available! - Ground game still pretty crappy, ground and pound is even worse! - Championship fights feel like an exhibition, to say the least. - Hyping fights is all about clicking some buttons and getting some tweets.. No weight in? No interviews? doesn't give depth to the game. - Never get to see the card you're fighting in, it feels like every time you fight is a one-fight event. - Referee interactions are HORRIBLE!!.. Pretty much all interactions look horrible, even when Dana wraps the belt around you, the belt floats like 10 inches from your waist?.. what is this?! PlayStation 2? - Bunch of crappy accessories that look straight out of WWE this is not wrestling! fighters don't wear lions mask and shirts that light up like an effin Christmas tree! I can keep going..... but it's making me angry.. Overall: Keep your UFC3 unless EA gives you UFC4 for $20 this game needs a lot of tweaking before it even gets to be a decent game.. for $60 you expect a well-made game especially when there are studios producing amazing work and competition in the gaming industry being so stiff.. It literally feels as EA did NOT learn its lesson from its launch flop of Star Wars Battlefront 2... Sad. A 15-year-old could of pinpoint this issue before release, so it seems that EA just didn't care about the product WE are paying for. ... show more

This game is a downgrade from UFC 3. They removed grounded elbows, double under hooks from clinch, shoulder strikes, and foot stomps. Horrible mini game for submissions. Outdated roster. Downgraded the graphics. Strikes have no power in stand up. Horrible presentation no Ring girls, commentators don’t differentiate he from she in a fight. ... show more

Worst of the series yet. The presentation and hype before each match is awful. A championship fight feels like an exhibition. The moves and fluidity of the game feel better, but overall this game disappointed. Not sure how/why the series took a step backwards with this game.

I really had high hopes for UFC 4 but I’m mostly disappointed. I was looking forward to career mode but the training in between fights is just so repetitive and boring I lost interest after 5 fights. Also, the game difficulty seems to have been nerfed, once you get you ground and pound you’re pretty much guaranteed to get a KO. Plus, the new grappling controls are WAY too simple, luckily you can switch to legacy controls. Either way I’m returning this game ... show more

Striking is fun grappling not so much. The AI is a joke. Too dumb on most settings, and on legendary they just have unlimited stamina and impossible to escape submissions. Worst part is, even boxers can submit you with ease on legendary. The career mode is a huge let down. The intro is the most fleshed our part ! After that, no more cut scenes, your coach just ghosts you until you fight for a belt five years later. The game is less than half finish. Super scripted, wait until it’s on sale or get ufc 3 since it’s a copy and paste minus features. ... show more

Been playing UFC games since PS1. I don't know they screwed up so much, especially with developers active on the subreddit for the game. UFC 3 almost had it perfect. The ground game needed work and the clinch needed an overhaul, and the striking was mostly on point. However, the striking feels like it got worse. I don't know why they'd make changes when it got such good feedback. The clinch is smoother but there's no denial button lol. So clinch spam is real. Granted, it's somewhat manageable to avoid and easy to get out of, but still. Ground game is just abysmal, the ground and pound is some of the clunkiest I've ever seen. Career mode is bland, the graphics look okay, no real changes from the 3rd game aside from some player models. The cosmetics are just goofy. It wouldn't be so bad if the fighter just wore it during an entrance but nope, your opponents will have huge bear masks, samurai helms, huge chains, etc. The game is an absolute joke. If you're itching for a UFC game just get 3. It's leagues better honestly. ... show more
