I love this pill dispenser! It has helped my elderly mother maintain independence and take her pills on time everyday! She was starting to get confused using the Sun. through Sat. plastic dispenser and miss doses, but now, she has taken her meds on time, every time!The machine seems sturdy, and there are no external buttons to confuse her. I just set the alarm when it's time for her to take her pills, it alarms, she gets the pills by dumping them into her hand, and it resets itself. I also love that it can be programmed to alarm once a day, twice a day, three times a day, four times a day, etc. Simple to use and program. Great design! I also love that it comes with an extra carousel and lid so I can fill it ahead of time. Was worth every penny!

Pill dispenser works great. I would give it 5 stars except for, 1 the cost, 2 the construction. The two go hand in hand. At $400, I would expect something that seems a bit more robust. If it lasts several years (5), I will be very happy. I am a little concerned that if it is dropped it will break. I keep it in my father's kitchen where he has had his pill container for years. Not sure how well the unit will hold up if he drops it on his hardwood floor. I hate to move the dispenser since he is suffering memory issues and I don't want to add any confusion. The key slot and key used to open the dispenser are not very robust. Hopefully it will withstand my monthly locking and unlocking. Really the biggest issue is price vs robustness. I know there are cheaper versions available from different manufactures, but based on reviews and my research this one appeared to be the best option in sprite of the price. Just seems that because it is medical related the price is high. The unit was easy for me to program. The alarm works well, but not super loud. Loading the pills was ok, but the slots are small so if you accidentally drop an extra pill in you are going to have to fish it out with something other than your fingers. All and all, I would purchase it again.

I purchased this product with little actual education on these types of devices but they were recommended for my particular situation so I trudged ahead with a review on the internet. I read previous reviews and with little hesitation I purchased the e-pill dispenser. I initially thought it was a rather pricey product but based upon the claims, assumed it would be an answer to one if my dilemmas. The ordering process was easy it was delivered as promised. I was a bit surprised at the actual size, it was much smaller than I expected. I read all the instructions and found them a bit difficult to understand and follow. I continued to "program" the various dispensing alarms and found it rather difficult. Once I finished, (it took me three attempts to program it correctly) I set the first alarm to go off five minutes later that the actual time. The alarm went off at the correct time, I disarmed the machine and less than 15 seconds the alarm sounded again. The machine rotated to the next position and in order to disable the alarm, I once again I turned it over held it there for about 10 seconds and then righted the machine and put it back on the table. Fifteen seconds later the alarm went off again. I repeated the disarming procedure and again 15 seconds later it sounded the alarm once again. I never got the machine to disarm until I pulled the batteries out of the machine. It took three attempts to contact e-Pill to request a return authorization but I was finally successful. I received a refund and additionally I found a machine for half the cost of the e-Pill machine. The new machine performs as advertised, has an AC power connection as well as battery back-up. I was able to program the new machine from a different manufacture the first time with ease. In short, review what the manufacture states about its product and shop for a fairly priced device. This e-Pill machine is neither. The e-Pill dispenser happens to be three pieces of $10 injection molded plastic and a $20 clock with some difficult programming options. I would not recommend this product.

I purchased this for my 94 year old father to help him keep his pills straight. He had a previous version of this which lasted for many years. This new model is easy to program and fill. My father has limited fine motor control of his hands and this machine is very easy for him to use. He loves the chiming reminders and will stop whatever he is doing and go take his pills. I was very pleased with the delivery as he lives in a very rural area and Amazon still made their fast delivery to that area. The machine also holds a 2 weeks supply of pills at twice a day administration or 28 days for once a day pill taking. Very cool, very convenient. Helps my Dad stay independent longer which is everyone's wish for him. :)

Wow what a great product. Used to have to run to my father's place every night to make sure he took his pills. He has morning and evening pills so I started with the dual pill box, he started confusing them. Then I went to separate pill boxes in separate rooms, they always just ended up next to each other and he'd confuse them too. Eventually I started driving over there to make sure he took them in the evening correctly. That's what lead me to this product. It works perfectly, two dispenses a day will go for 14 days. You can choose one of 4 sounds which are not "alarm" type sounds. The default one sounds a bit like a phone so I went with the second sound. It goes off every 5 seconds or so for an hour so he hears it easily. He actually enjoys having it there now as he's mentioned it to many others and how great it is. Thanks for such a great product.

This has been a life saver for our Mom who has Alzheimer's. This has allowed her to live on her own for a while longer. This is an update in August 2018. The pill dispenser was great when it worked but one month after the warranty expired it has malfunctioned and the alarm will not turn off when turned over. This was very upsetting to my mom as this was the second time that this happened and my brother was there to witness it the second time. We thought the first time was maybe just a glitch or maybe an error on her part, however, it was not. I called the company and they had me test it and it worked during the test. The problem is, with an older patient we really don't want to risk this happening again because last time it happened she took the batteries out and put them back in wrong and went almost a week without her meds. The company told me that we can send it in for a refurbished dispenser for 149.00 Since we paid almost 400.00 for the original one you would think that it would last longer than 13 months. You might want to look into other options.

Update: after contacting customer service, I found out that the lock is not broken. The customer service people are very responsive and helpful. My mistake was misunderstanding how the lock works. It does not prevent the tray from moving - so it’s not completely secure. It just keeps the lid from opening. So if you need something really secure, buy the more expensive unit. When I first purchased this unit just a little over 1 year ago, I loved it. It worked so well for dispensing my son's numerous medications multiple times during the day. What a godsend! The problem is the very cheap plastic part that serves as the lock. It breaks very easily. So if you don't mind having a broken lock, the unit is great. If you need to keep it locked, find a different product.

I bought this product for my 93 year old mother who had started doubling up on her meds because she forgot that she had already taken them. The dispenser is easy to fill and easy to set time and alarms. I like the fact that I can lock it so that she can't open it. The only improvement would be if she chould see that there are still meds in the dispenser because she sometime thinks it's empty when it's just not time for the next dose. The alarm is loud enough for her to hear so that she knows when to take the medications. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a reminder that it's time to take meds. It's such a relief to know that she will take the meds when they are due and can't double up on them.
