There’s lot of oils out in the skincare/beauty world, I’ve done research on them and beautypedia recommended this one. First off... not many oils are light weight, some are... don’t get me wrong but I generally don’t expect that from a blend of oils like this one, so for “sheerness” I rated it 3 bc it layers well with my other skincare and doesn’t effect the way my makeup looks, generally at night I put this is out over my serum and before my moisturizer but I sometimes save it as the last step, I don’t think I’d ever use this before a serum (I feel like it would “block” the serum from penetrating the dermis fully... ), I could see how this would work well as a “primer” before using a powder foundation but to me this is a skincare product not a primer and not meant to extend the wear of your makeup (in a way it can, it can prevent makeup from flaking off the dry areas of the face... which does extend the wear... but it can also have an opposite effect on other skin types). If you’re extremely oily and prone to blackheads... I’d maybe talk to your dermatologist first but I don’t see how it would help the blackhead situation, they’re good oils but they’re still oil and some people really don’t need oil... despite what beauty bloggers tell you. I love that’s there’s no irritants or weird fragrance to this oil, it’s a shame bc I see so many oils out there where 90% of it is good and the rest is irritants.. lavender is an irritant... tea tree is an irritant, it’s not an opinion but a fact. I’m pleased with this one and once I’m done using it want to trying their “all of the feels” oil with CBD, I own their antioxidant booster and that’s also a fabulous product, this is a case where I’m actually happy a cosmetic brand got into the skincare game (not all of it is great but I’m shocked that most of it isn’t bad). UPDATE... it leaked all over despite being stored straight up in a cool dark place... it got kinda orange? I think the rose hip turned?... not sure what happened but it wasn’t good, I threw it in the garbage, I had to clean off my shelves and closet area I keep my skincare, I cannt return it now but something went awry and it is what it is, I’ll try the other ELF oil I’ve been wanting to try and hope the same doesn’t happen. ... show more

Elf is such a awesome brand! I don’t think I have tried anything and didn’t like it! I like to use the oil at night to give my skin that extra softness it needs. Does not break me out, just leaves skin smooth.

I have itchy dry red skin in the winter time. This product is the ONLY thing that has softened my skin the way it does. It used to be cheaper. That's the only downfall.
