By far the best primer I’ve ever bought. Silky smooth can choose not to wear make up with it on. For those of us in our 40s to 50s this is the perfect primer. I will definitely be purchasing multiple times in the future.

The primer spreads very well, at the risk of dating myself, a little dab'll do ya! It leaves a smooth surface on your skin, but I'm not too crazy about the feeling left behind. It isn't exactly slimy, but it definitely feels different than their pore putty. That is why I only gave it 4 stars. As far as the wear factor, the makeup that I do use tends to be gone by the end of my day. But I also am not heavy handed with my makeup, so that may be a reason why. My makeup does feel greasy to me though after using the primer, so I use a mineral powder to handle that. I don't know if I'll order any more of this particular primer, but I'm also not throwing it away. I prefer the elf putty primer at this point. I'll use the hydrating primer, maybe once I use it more I'll like it better. ... show more

I enjoyed this. It feels great, but I enjoy the poreless putty primer better. It leaves a smoother finish, but this is great if you want a more hydrating effect.

I have tried many primers over the years. This elf HYDRATING primer is the best.!! it also works as a moisturizer/primer all in one! I will never use any other primer. It is definitely worth the money… you will be so glad you purchased this!
