My foundation, that I used for years, was discontinued. I have been doing without for a long time, mostly because it is a pain to look for new makeup. I like what I read about the e.l.f. products and thought I'd give it a try. What I LOVED most is that the small tubes and jars are the perfect "try me" size and very affordable. Great marketing strategy. I was able to buy 6 different shades so I could try them at home. I was actually surprised at how much foundation is in each tube and jar. I guess that I chose wisely because most of the shades I picked would have worked, but the best was the "Pearl" shade. I have light green undertones to my skin. This shade helped even out my skin and give it a consistent tone. I used my regular face cream a few minutes before applying the makeup and it went on so smoothly, without feeling cakey or dry. It lasted all day, in hot weather, and I still had a "glow" to my skin. It worked really well with my powdered blush. I have slightly oily skin, but do not like the feel of matte foundation. This foundation was a great compromise for my skin type. This will be the foundation I use forever...or until they discontinue it.

e.l.f. - can we PLEASE bring this foundation line back?!! I’ve been using this for years, it’s the ONLY foundation that has truly suited my skin (combination); the perfect shade, it blends effortlessly with buildable coverage although it’s not needed - the smell is DIVINE and is moisturizing!!!! If anyone, I’ve put this product to the test working 24 hour shifts on the ambulance in one of the most busy cities in the US- the foundation STAYS PUT through sweltering Midwest summers, frozen winters, sweat and tears!!! I’ve been buying up whatever is left after being discontinued, I’m heartbroken ☹️

I have dry skin and deal with eczema, so I often have issues with foundation looking cakey and making my pores more noticeable. I was pleasantly surprised by this foundation. It's lightweight and blends really well. I have freckles and don't want to cover them up, and this foundation blends so well that you can barely tell I'm wearing makeup. I have fair skin and the pearl shade is perfect. I used a hydrating primer (Wet and Wild Prime Focus Primer) under the foundation, and then used a contouring stick (Wet and Wild MegaGlo), and it looked really good. Makeup sometimes looks bad after all-day wear, but my makeup held up and looked good even after hours of wearing it while running errands. If you have dry skin I highly recommend this foundation with the primer I mentioned above.

Things to keep in mind when reading my review: I’ve recently gotten back into makeup so I’m currently still experimenting and learning. My face is oily with some texture. What I like about it: Price point is hard to beat. I got my shade for $3. It’s vegan and cruelty free, which is important to me. I wouldn’t have bought it otherwise. The color I got is an amazing match for my skin. I’m very pale and historically it’s been hard to find a foundation that matches my skin tone. This one looks perfect to me. Another thing I like is that it really evens out my skin tone and it’s buildable coverage wise. Feels okay on the face. I haven’t noticed any irritation yet and my sensitive skin appreciates that. After it fully dries it doesn’t seem to transfer very much. What I don’t like: The smell. I’m sensitive to smells. I prefer to wear unscented makeup for that reason. If I had realized this had a fragrance, I would not have bought it. Another reviewer said this smells like baby powder and grandma. They were right. It really gives “old lady.” Which is totally fine, but it’s not my thing. Maybe if the fragrance was barely there I wouldn’t mind it, but I still wonder why they even put fragrances in makeup anyways. It really seems to highlight my texture which is not a look I was going for. Maybe if I primed my face with something before this foundation it wouldn’t be an issue, however, I am more of a foundation minimalist (I typically don’t wear any foundation at all) so I was hoping to be one and done. I’ve only been wearing it for around 45 minutes and my oily-ness is already starting to come through. I want to leave it on longer to see how it holds up in a few hours, but the scent is making my eyes and nose water, so I’m afraid I have to wash it off before I can find out the longevity. Overall: It’s probably a great starter foundation, but please make it unscented.

I keep trying all kinds of foundations for my 63 year old face (soon to turn 64). I don't look old yet but I definitely am getting some wrinkles. I've tried all kinds of foundations - cheap and expensive. They all left my face looking chalky and the lines in my face would really stand out. I decided to try this Elf brand - I bought two shades. One for the face and one for places I wanted highlighted more (like under the eyes). I was amazed at this foundation! For me, it went on really smooth and silky. It rubbed in effortlessly and it didn't leave my wrinkles looking cakey or gross. My face looked soft, dewy and nice. It has a very light but very pleasant aroma to it. I let my grown daughter smell it and she said, "Mmmmmm....that smells SO good! What is it?" The makeup looked good all day long. So, I'm here to tell you that I am now SOLD on this brand and I will use it from now on. And just as an aside, my husband and I started eating carnivore eight months ago and it has healed a *myriad* of things - so we feel and look a lot better! It's like the clock has been turned back!
