Description

THE ULTIMATE BUSH PLANE By most estimates, planning and building the full-size DRACO should have taken years. Entrepreneur Mike Patey — whose exceptional drive and Back to Work™ ethic have inspired thousands of people — accomplished it in just over five months! Mike started with a Wilga 2000, replacing its Lycoming O-540 piston engine with a Pratt & Whitney PT6A-28 turboprop boasting about twice the power at half the weight. Many additional modifications followed before Mike proudly unveiled his "ultimate bush plane". It could go to the same places as a Carbon Cub, but also climb twice as fast; reach altitudes up to 28,000 feet; and cruise cross-country at 180 MPH while carrying four people plus gear. Changes from the Wilga were so extensive that the FAA approved Mike's redesign as an experimental exhibition aircraft. The DRACO 2

  • New plane, change tires to debro 5inch 500RV inflatable tires.
Style: Bind-N-Fly
change tires to de-bro 5inch 500RV inflatable tires. Little to no bounce. Makes for a smoother landing. I use an compressed air can (duster).

  • Horrible Landing Gear
Style: Bind-N-Fly
Looks good, but performs badly. The worst part is the landing gear. Acts like a springbock. Absolutely ridiculous. On the first not quite perfect landing, one of the shocks busted. I have no desire to replace it, because I am not a brain surgeon. For that price I expect something working like a real shock absorber and not a cheap plastic toy which falls apart at the first impact. ... show more

  • Nice big airplane but scratches easily, paint comes off, and the landing gear cracks 😩
Style: Bind-N-Fly
Nice big plane easy to see easy to fly. I love the lights. I've owned many many horizon hobby e flute airplanes but this one has the wrong material in the landing gear, they sell a steel support braces for it because the market demands it because the landing gear always breaks. $40 more. The propeller it comes with also breaks very easily. Replaced it with prop from master air screw. The rear windshield simply fell off and cracked? It's a beautiful plane almost like a model to be displayed not flown. However I want two of them now hoping the second one would be better but it isn't it's actually worse. I guess if you're a perfect pilot in a perfect world it's a perfect plane. 🙂 ... show more

  • Fun plane but it is a lot to handle
Style: Bind-N-Fly
I’ve always wanted a large plane and bought the Draco after it had been out awhile. It makes a fine extra plane but it certainly not the one I take out the most. It is very big and hauling it out to your flying spot can be a hassle. The small scale antennas, though they look cool, make it harder to carry it without possibly breaking one of. When it is the air the weight and balance is great. Landing, it is a lot of airplane to get onto the ground and is not very forgiving. I would buy it if you have space, want a large scale plane, and you’re more than a beginner with a decent amount of space to fly in. ... show more

  • Looks cool but!
Style: Bind-N-Fly
To put-out a beautiful plane like this and cut corners is stupid. One, the tires suck and are way to close to the shocks. Very top heavy, flips over easy, it is ok to just fly in a circle but anything more than that good luck. Now landing, like most have stated sucks with all the crap they did on the build. I would expect this on a one hundred dollar plane but over 600.00 bucks, they could have done better. ... show more

  • If you want a flying brick then here it is
Style: Bind-N-Fly
This is a absolute junk Yes it has bells and whistles but it flies like a brick with wings. Rolls take forever and flying upside down requires full down elevator. The reviews posted by people who got these for free are questionable. DONT WAISTE YOUR 600.00 It's just like a big cub....slow and heavy Landing require a little power or you'll bounce down the runway ... show more
