  • Loved it!
I have an ebike and absolutely love it. The enthusiasm of the author for the bikes is justified. I have to disagree a it about the question of throttleson bikes. Should not have them! If ya got a throttle ya got a motorcycle! Too many yahoos tearing down the bike lanes at too fast speeds

  • Great Bike Information
The part I liked best was his defense of electric bikes. Some bicycle fans consider electronic parts cheating, and he replies to the haters "isn't a bike having wheels and speed gears the same level of so called cheating? Why not just run on naked feet if hardship is the point?" Electric bikes still use arms on handlebars, legs for balance, and take effort even if it is easier. So I do enjoy his biking defense arguments. Also he mentions the environmental benefits of bikes as arguments I agree with greatly. One problem I did have was he said "we baby boomers" many times, and I am not one as I am younger compared to the WWII birth surge era. Pretty much every book on e-bikes tends to be an advertisement brochure on one expensive brand of electric bikes the author likes as well by the third chapter, and this one does do a bit of that unfortunately. Yet this one is somewhat objective compared to most, and tells the user stories of people using many brands of bikes. I am shopping for a new e-bike so I found the information helpful on many levels. I will checkout more books by this author for certain in the future. ... show more

  • Highly informative
I'm 84 and have been riding bikes most of my life. However, I have developed both knee and stamina problems. I can still ride my stepthrough hybrid bike, but not very far. This book opens up a better future and has begun looking for my wife and my first ebikes. Thank you very much,

  • Perfect
This was bought for a gift and I've been texted twice about how much they are learning and enjoying it.

  • Thinking about ( or already own) an ebike? Read this!
Let’s say you see me riding my bike and you say, “Hey! Is that an ebike?” (BTW, I get this question every time I go out on it.) I wish that every time that happens, I could hand them this book! It articulates all the reasons I live ebiking and has so much more - maintenance, exercise value, how to buy…everything you need to know. Dave’s style is like a comfortable friend talking to you about what is clearly a passion of his, and I really enjoyed reading it! Finished it last night and hopped on the bike for a 21 miler this afternoon to top it off! Great book about the best hobby you’ll ever have! Ride on! ... show more

  • Pretty basic and mostly common sense
If Google is not your friend, or you know absolutely nothing about E-bikes and bicycles in general, this is the book for you. I watched several E-bike Youtube videos before I bought this book. 90% of what I read in the book I knew already, and leaned even more from the videos.

  • A Must Read for Anyone Considering E-Biking
I consider this book a must-read for any Baby Boomer (AKA Senior Citizen) considering or new to E-Biking. Mr. Hogan provides a very readable and entertaining guide to the growing trend of electronic biking for seniors, including the physical and mental benefits associated with the activity. This relatively short read is packed with information, including selection, cost, maintenance and safety. The author also reviews the history of the trend and provides a strong argument on why the sport has made bike riding so accessible and beneficial to aging adults. Included at the end of each chapter are entertaining testimonials from seniors illustrating how e-biking has improved their lives. Definitely an informative and essential read for those considering the sport. ... show more

  • Great for beginner ebikers'
Great information for amateurs' like me just getting an ebike. You just can't get a bike and think you can get on and ride. There's alot to learn so this book is a handy tool for just that.
