The media could not be loaded. The Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP1 turns into 3 devices, cool fan, portable heater, and an air purifier (Photo 1). Due to this, you can set a temperature on the Purifier, and it will heat or cool to reach the desired temperature. The cool air feels great, and the heat can get hot quickly. Dyson thought of everything with this device. Which is why it is the perfect fan for a child’s room which is where I currently have it. The air blows out from tiny vents that go along the trim of the base instead of visible spinning blades. When in “heat mode” the device does not get hot, so you don’t have to worry about them touching and burning themselves. The only part that gets somewhat hot is the vent, but even that’s just feels warm when you touch it. They even thought about the hazards of it tipping over. With this, the fan will automatically shut off when it is knocked over (Video). If you are worried about losing the remote, even that is taken care of. The remote and the top of the fan is magnetic so the remote can stay in place on top of the fan (Photo 2). The remote also has its own set of capabilities (Photo 3). It offers the standard wind speed but It also has buttons for the following features. Night mode, which lowers the sound of the fan. Oscillating on/off, Auto mode, which allows you to set the temperature and then it will use fan or heat to keep it at that temperature. Finally, information which rotates the different stats on the fan’s display (Photo 4), but I mostly keep the temperature stat visible. If you don’t want to use the remote, you can use an app on your phone (Photo 5). Honestly, this is what I use most if I want to make any adjustments. The best feature is the oscillating adjustment on the app because it allows you to rotate the fan precisely to where you want it (Photo 6). Let’s address the elephant in the room, the cost. I understand the price is high, but you are getting a very high-quality feature full device. I can also state that you are getting a device that is long-lasting too. Including this one, I now own 3 Dyson fans, my first one is the Dyson TP04 I got in 2018 and even that one is still going strong. Now, where I can not justify the cost is the cost of the Dyson branded filter replacements. Cons – One complaint I have about the Dyson Purifier is the height. I find it to be too small for the floor and too big to place on an end table. Luckily it can tilt up and down to help remedy this issue (Photo 7). The second complaint is no fault with Dyson, it is due to US compliance, you can’t control the heat in any matter (Photo 8). Unlike with the physical remote, if you have heat on, turn off the device, and turn it back on, it will still be on heat setting. However, if the heat is on when you turn it off and you turn it on via the app it will switch to cool air. ... show more

This Dyson is extremely nice to have and I would hope so considering the price point. My first impressions were great, the box for this thing is even high quality and I almost did not want to throw it away. The fan is packaged very well from the factory. To be honest I almost threw the remote away, so make sure you get that out of the box before tossing it as I had no clue it came with a remote. You will get the fan itself with a built in very thick high quality cord and also a remote with included batteries. This is much more than a fan, and if you have never had an air purifier I highly recommend to get one. This thing has a lot of features and it will take a lot to explain them but it’s really just a super fancy air purifier but it also has a heat mode. The fan mode is called “cooling” but it doesn’t really condition the air, it’s really just a fan in that mode. There is also a smart feature with this unit and I was able to link it with my google home. You will need to download the Dyson app which I highly recommend as it will show you all sorts of amazing data about the air quality of your house. You can set the fan in multiple fan speeds and also the heater or you can set it to “auto” mode, which allows the fan to automatically set the fan speed based on the air quality of the house. When the air quality is good, the fan will go very slow, you pretty much won’t hear it when its at this point, which is great. It usually stays at a low fan speed at my house, unless we leave the front door open for a little bit, then the fan senses issues with the air quality and fixes it. Honestly an amazing device to own, the air quality in my home is so much better now, and the fact that you can see what it’s really seeing on the app, really proves how well its working. The unit also features an LCD display on the front kind of showing what you can see on the app. It shows it all on a graphic design and relates to bad to good. Once I got the hang of this unit, it is easy to use but brand new out of the box it was a little confusing. I’d say at this price point, I’d have very high expectations, but I do think it delivers. I do think there are others that could do the same but you likely won’t see all the cool data nerd stuff that I love. This is one of the best air purifiers I have ever used. It was able to sense the air quality before I could even smell smoke. It's also modern looking that doesn't look like the typical purifiers that are boxed shaped, while also having a heater function (haven't tried yet since it's summer).
