  • It does fit. Read this first. My Instructions. UPDATE: LASTED 5 Years
Style: For 99-04 Silverado/Sierra/1500/2500/3500
OK so first of all when I added my truck to the Amazon garage, this product showed that it did not fit my truck but I checked on Autozone and the 2002 Silverado LS 4.8 and 5.3 engine share the same pump. So I figured they should share this one as well since Amazon says that it fits a 4.8L. My truck is **2002 Chevy Silverado 5.3 T ("T" is the 8th letter in the VIN #) ** Extended cab (2 full door, 2 half door) ** So before you walk away from this great deal to a more expensive one, just do your research and it might fit your truck even though Amazon says it doesn't. ** Another thing is that although the description says 2 connectors on top, when you receive the item, yes it only has one connector. the other connector is the pressure sensor (black) that you pull out of your old unit and install it in the new one (see in pictures). ** ** I find it easier to lift the bed of the truck rather than dropping the gas tank. In order to do this follow the steps. ** 1.) Remove driver side back light (2 Phillips screws) and disconnect light bulb cables. from light housing (so they don't rip off when lifting bed) ** 2.) Remove 3 black screws from where you fill up on gas. ** 3.) Remove 4 bold on driver's side underneath bed. it helps if you have a long extension (2 towards the front of bed and 2 towards back. ** 4.) Do the same as step 3 for passenger's side but do not remove bolts entirely just loosen them so there is only about 5 - 7 full turns. (doing this will help hold bed in place with out falling off. ** 5.) Lift bed from driver's side and prop up with bed with something between the bed and chassis. ** Doing the steps above will give you easy access to fuel pump. ** Once you can reach the pump disconnect connector and hoses, turn large outer ring counter clock wise to loosen pump from tank. Then remove old pump, move hose clips (greyish color) (they go around pump fittings and the hoses goes over that shown in picture). Remove pressure sensor from old pump to new pump. (shown in pictures). Clean outer rim of tank and then reinstall new fuel pump. ** I also found it easier to hang the floater in the edge of the tank before installing the entire Fuel Pump assembly and once the aseembly is in, I connect the floater to the fuel pump assembly. I feel that doing it this way prevent damage to the fuel meter when trying to install it. Just be careful not to drop floater into tank. ** BEFORE YOU DROP THE BED BE SURE TO TEST THE PUMP FIRST. Just in case the pump is faulty. ** This took me about 2 hours. ** Will update more later on performance of pump. It is quieter so far. UPDATE It's been 2 months so far so good! My fuel gauge works now! UPDATE: This lasted me almost 5 years. I'm sure it would have lasted longer had I not ran low on gas which dried and burned out the motor. Buying this Again ** Hope this helps. ... show more

  • Whole unit seems to be defective straight out of the box
Style: For 06-08 Colorado/Canyon/i-370
My model truck I have to drop the fuel tank to change the pump. If you have ever done it, you know it is no easy task. I pulled the tank got the old pump out, cleaned the inside of the tank and installed the new one. The install is relatively easy just a pull and replace. Got the tank put back in feeling pretty accomplished. When I started the truck everything seemed to be working fine. I only had about 3 gallons of gas that I siphoned from the tank so the gauge would have been sitting on empty anyway. I drove it to the gas station and every thing was going smooth, until I filled the tank. Upon filling the tank I noticed the gauge was still sitting on empty. So the fuel level sensor is bad. drove it maybe 200 feet and got stopped at a stop light and the engine started to sputter. So it seems something is wrong with the whole unit. I don't know if they just don't have a quality assurance team that actually tests the products or what. I reached out to the company and told them the issue today. We will see what they respond. I am very disappointed in this product because now I have to go through those hours of work to siphon the tank, drop the tank, and reinstall everything all over again because the company sent me a defective product. I will update this review when and if the company has a solution, but for now it is a 1 star because no on likes to do work twice. ... show more

  • No strainer filter or misc hardware
Style: For 04-07 Suburban 1500/Yukon XL/Avalanc...
Pump works great as of install. Be sure you’re very delicate with original clips and hardware as they do not include any. As well as the fuel tank pressure sensor. You get the pump and O-ring, that’s it. No strainer in this design, which is disappointing as my Yukon is not equipped with a serviceable filter. Not sure if there’s a filter built into the pump assembly. ... show more

  • Great pump for the money.
Style: For 00-03 Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade
I got this pump for my 2000 Chevy Tahoe . If I was going to do this again i would also get the locking ring at the same time and the clips that hold the lines on . And if you are going to drop the tank ? Order new straps too . Instead of dropping the tank I pulled up the carpet and cut a hole in the floor with cut off wheel on a 4 1/2 angle grinder . It cut very easy and is easy to patch up . I took a old license plate and folded it to fit the floor put a bead of silicone around the outside and put the plate back on the floor and use zip screws to hold it down and folded the carpet back down and away you go. I also ordered a fuel pressure regulator at the same time so the whole system is changed and filter if you're going to do the job get the whole get all of them get the pump the fuel filter the pressure regulator and the clips for the lines all the same time see you then you know your whole fuel systems change and clean. There was still gas in the tank so I used a small battery operated pump put it in the top of the tank after I got the pump out and pumped it out into jugs. It took me a while to figure everything out and get it all lined up to do. So I hope this review helps somebody else in the future to do the job faster. Cutting the hole was the fastest thing to do it's a 22-year-old vehicle with 220,000 miles on it so it's not like it's a real price. But you want to make sure you put sealer on it so you don't get no exhaust fumes inside the car hopefully I don't have to do this again but at least I did learn how to do it and where to cut the hole in the floor it was very simple there's all kinds of videos on YouTube that show the best way to do it and how to how to cut it how to change it so that was the best thing I could do . I sat and watch on YouTube first oh what I needed to do. And did it . Again if you're going to order the stuff get everything all at once you're locking ring your pump your fuel filter and your pressure regulator then the whole system changed and you should be good to go for a long long time. Thank you very much Roger. ... show more
