This is one heavy box, so you might need help carrying it! I had to open the box and move it in sections downstairs as we put this in our basement. Although I love this, there were some frustrations. Might be a longer read, but I will try to hit the highlights. Out the box, this has a LOT of pieces and no extras! It took me 3 hours to put together myself with a few moments of help from my daughter. I did use a screwdriver and a drill to save time. For the most part, this went together pretty easily. There were a few pictures due to the darkness of them it was a touch hard to see a few things, but overall, not too complicated in my opinion. I had the same issue with the top; my daughter had to sit on each section in order to get the pieces to connect for me to screw them together. Although, at the very end of the instructions you will see that you can adjust the middle bottom 'feet' braces to increase the height. This 'might' have helps make this meet up better, but obviously I figured this out too late, so I am not positive. If I had to do over again with no help, I would have secured the outer edge sections with the screws, flipped it upside down and then tried to secure the middle section. One of the cord bracket clips on one of the 'logs' was broken, but the cord doesn't show so it didn't matter to me. The logs are very thin cheap plastic and when you snap them together, be careful! I broke one of the clips that connects them somehow and now it just 'sets' on top. Unless you plan to shake and move this about, it sets just fine, so it isn't an issue. There was one small crack in one piece, but again it did not compromise the stability, nor did it show so I didn't care. The glass is HEAVY duty! When I slid the large middle panel in though I felt like I was going to break it as it seemed to be too large for the slot. Stick with the process, it does end up all aligning and fitting together seamlessly once you get the other pieces together. I did not put the light strips on the glass; I wanted to chuck them after fighting with them to get on the glass panels! My daughter patiently got these together while I put together the rest of the unit. I like that the back is built inset to keep it flush against the wall while keeping everything plugged in. There are two remotes, one for the fireplace one for the lights. The lights are pretty trippy and excentric! Being able to set the temperature was a nice feature to me. Does it cover 1000 sqft? I am not sure as my space is not that large unfortunately. It is over 500 though and it heats up the space well enough to me. I like units like this to not only add the esthetic vibe and feel of a real fireplace, but to take the chill out of the air. I am not a fan of running the heater full blast all the time. I actually prefer a cooler room and using units like this to keep the chill out of just the main living spaces. Our basement has a large open space just over 500 sqft and it heated up that space very nicely very quickly. Considering this does the job of several things, the price wasn't too bad to me. You get the fireplace, entertainment center and the light up glass shelves. I have purchased from Duraflame before and have never had an issue with their products longevity either. ... show more

This fireplace/TV stand is really nice once you get it together. ASSEMBLY: Assembly was comparable to IKEA in some ways, and slightly harder in others. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Parts are clearly labeled. It didn't come with any screwdrivers or other tools, so you'll need your own phillips screwdriver. I highly recommend an electric one. There were only a few steps that were really hard. The pre drilled holes for some of the hinges weren't lined up quite right. We ended up putting the screws in crooked (it was that or drill new holes. You can see in the pictures how off they are) and it worked ok. This probably contributed to difficulty in getting the doors adjusted properly after attached. That was a real pain. The other part that was oddly difficult was putting the LED light strip on the back of the shelves. It is an incredibly tight, awkward fit, but once it is installed it creates a really cool effect. The actual fireplace part was easy to assemble. Make sure you have a dedicated outlet for the fireplace. It won't work well (or safely) if you plug it into a power strip. You can plug the LED lights into a power strip though. USE: This is really heavy. Unless you are superman, plan on having more than one person to help carry the box and assembly will be easier if you have more than one person too. The LED lights have lots of options, so you can have them your favorite color, rotating through multiple colors and a variety of flash patterns to choose from. The glass shelves look neat with or without finger prints. I do wish there were multiple height options for the shelves, but there is only one option for the pegs and it coincides with the holes for the LED cords. The tempered glass doors look nice and are easy to clean. The fireplace has multiple options for lights and heat. The heat is controlled independently of the "fire" and it is easy to adjust the temperature and set a timer. The :fire" looks realistic and you can adjust the speed and brightness with 5 settings available for each. The heat and fire can be adjusted easily with the remote or the discrete touch pad on the front. I was glad to find that the heat is good at heating the area, but doesn't warm anything it shouldn't (like the TV). Overall this is a very nice piece of furniture that is functional in multiple ways and looks great. Assembly takes some time and effort, but once it is assembled, it's worth it. ... show more

Duraflame® Electric Fireplace TV Stand with Modern LED Lights and Storage, Black First and foremost. This fireplace is heavy. Thick glass panels and heavy wood. So just keep that in mind. Get ready to set aside a good chunk of time to assemble this monstrosity. It took me over 4 hours (my wife says 6 lol) to assemble this fireplace. The instructions are extremely helpful and basically hold your hand. However , it is very time consuming. You will need a cross point (Phillips) screwdriver and (optional) cordless screwdriver for the longer screws. There were no extra screws , nuts or bolts so try not to lose any. Also the actual top didn't seem to fit correctly. The left and right sides fit snuggly but, the middle was raised a solid inch. It was definitely higher then it should have. I just grabbed a few of my adult sized children and made them sit on the top in the middle to hold it in place while I installed the brackets and screws. The LEDs on the shelves are a nice touch and look really nice, although they are extremely difficult to slide on. I ended up using a rubber mallet to give them a few wacks but, I definitely don't recommend that lol. The fireplace is supposed to heat 1000 sq foot however, in the few days I have had it. I would say it probably only does about 500 at most. Although I'm not disappointed as it does take the chill out of the sun room. I just expected more just based on price alone.
