This was a very inexpensive purchase that works well for the hobby wood-turner. Inertial sanders can be tricky to use and have a high learning curve, so don't expect miracles ;) The 1" and 2" pads are nice for switching between small bowls and larger turnings, and being able to use a hard pad or soft pad makes the tool very versatile. The Dura-Gold sandpaper is of good quality; I've used their sandpaper in the past and it cuts well, is easily cleaned, and lasts for a sufficient amount of time. I've not used the tool enough to know how long it will last, but understand that it is intended to be used with very light pressure (like with any sanding, if you are pressing very hard you are not letting the tool do the work). I think it would be easy to replace the bronze bushings if they ever fail, and the other parts could be fixed as well. Overall, I think this inertial sander kit is a great bang for the buck.

This is my third purchase of very similar products. Although they wear out after use, this particular item doesn't require constant repositioning of the head of the sanding unit, which is a plus. Ultimately, my review relates to the type of product, which provides the best sanding option for wood turners. My 2" sanding disks advance incrementally from 40 to 3000 grit, which results in a perfect, shiny product, ready for a final finish of wax, shellac, lacquer or poly.

Fit and finish is not perfect. It's just a tad rough in the hands, not as refined as a high end tool. BUT, in use, it does a great job. You have to work with it a bit to get the hang of inertial sanders if you aren't familiar with them. But once you get it, this turns smoothly/quickly and does a great job. It was the cheaper of several offerings on amazon when I bought ... I can't think of what that extra money would have gotten me that I care about ... great tool, great value.

Dura gold sander well made and comfortable in my hand. I liked the replaceable soft foam pad that makes sanding sensitive in tight spaces or curves. I hope I can order replacements when mine wear out. Maybe kit should include extras. I would definitely recommend this tool to a friend. Pat
