My favorite pick is the Dunlop Ultex Sharp .9 mm. At the time I ordered, those were not available for quick shipping, so I ordered the Dunlop Tortex III 1.0mm instead. I like these a lot. They are a little less expensive, have a drier, grippier feel, a similar sharp "jazz tip," and are easier to see when dropped or misplaced. Maybe these are my new favorite?

While I really like these guitar picks, the ink rubbing issue lies squarely with Dunlop. My most recent purchase of these picks was from Sweetwater, and the ink rubbed off those picks as well. It really doesn’t bother me, as I usually wash my hands after I’m done playing .

I have used these picks for years and years. I like how the texture seems like it soaks up the sweat off of my finger and thumb. After using these picks I would never go back to a plastic or nylon pick they always feel slippery when I hold them, even the ones with the little traction nubs on the surface. I prefer the blue pick and I play metal and classic rock and it works fine for rhythm or lead playing.

It's a Dunlap yeller.... unfortunately they changed the black ink... use 1 an hour during gigs... fingers black by the end. Paint smudges almost immediately. YMMV

Taylor 360e 12 string acoustic. .50mm jazz pick. Playing 12 string presents some unique challenges, that proper pick selection can really help overcome. The first challenge, is annotation of every string individually to achieve the beautiful natural chorus sound. I have found that picks with a more rounded tip do not strike deeply enough between the closely spaced string pairs, and often only strike the larger diameter string, or at least only lightly strike the smaller strings, causing more muted tones, than the bright chimes that should be present. The pointed tip of these picks, combined with the smaller thickness helps the pick strike more deeply between the string pairs and individually annotate the smaller strings for the perfect balanced pair sound, just like a 12 string is supposed to sound. The other big challenge this pick help address is muddy tones created by picking / strumming too hard. The .50 mm pick is the perfect thickness. It allows for a more gentle gliding over the strings for a nice resonating sound where each of the couplet strings are clear and distinct. Thicker picks can create an overwhelming vibration of the larger diameter strings, such that the lighter strings are overwhelmed, and the sound comes out muddy and overwhelmed. So, if you are a 12 stringer and you want a cheap way to really improve your 12 strings natural sound, try out these .50mm jazz picks. You will be surprised at the difference.

I've been using Dunlop Tortex brand picks for years. They work great. No issues. Prices have gone up - what hasn't lately? - so, I'm reducing by one star on Value for Money category. But will continue to buy regardless.
