Living in Japan, I have had trouble finding a size 10 4E width shoe. The Dunham Cloud Mid-cut boot has fit well right from the start. I've owned it for a year of walking on mostly hard surfaced roads and it shows minimal wear. It has held up well and stayed supportive and comfortable.

I found the shoe very comfortable and relatively light weight. The sole is soft. So, on rocky hikes rocks can "come through the sole. When I hike on very rocky trails, I have to be careful The boot is very comfortable and hikes great otherwise.

I tried and returned a dozen boots from different manufacturers before finding these. Due to an injury I needed the extra support and width that most did not provide. I also purchased the New Balance 1400 V1 as a second pair which are very good as well but I prefer the fit, comfort, and support of the Dunhams/Rockports so these are an everyday wear for me. These boots comfortably cradle my heels while providing ample room in the front. The boots are true to size and the extra wide width is true 4E. The only downside is that there is a light squeak in both boots but the noise in these is hardly noticeable. Despite the slight noise these still rate a 5 star. Update: I was so impressed I purchased a 2 more pairs. No issues with the new boots and they are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn. ... show more
