Incredible Boots

I tried and returned a dozen boots from different manufacturers before finding these. Due to an injury I needed the extra support and width that most did not provide. I also purchased the New Balance 1400 V1 as a second pair which are very good as well but I prefer the fit, comfort, and support of the Dunhams/Rockports so these are an everyday wear for me. These boots comfortably cradle my heels while providing ample room in the front. The boots are true to size and the extra wide width is true 4E. The only downside is that there is a light squeak in both boots but the noise in these is hardly noticeable. Despite the slight noise these still rate a 5 star. Update: I was so impressed I purchased a 2 more pairs. No issues with the new boots and they are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn.

Very comfortable, soft sole.

I found the shoe very comfortable and relatively light weight. The sole is soft. So, on rocky hikes rocks can "come through the sole. When I hike on very rocky trails, I have to be careful The boot is very comfortable and hikes great otherwise.

If you have long feet (size 12.5) and wide this maybe your next hiker. I ordered these skeptical of the wide option and the price. But right away I could feel the difference from my Merrills. I thought the tread was a little skimpy from the vibram but was I wrong. Great fit. Great traction. I'm usually on hard pack to broken rock to rock. I'm liking them way better. Which adds to my much needed confidence on descent. I'm super happy except for one issue. One of the eyes blew out. But fortunately I had some 20# mono and a hook and was able to repair and continue.

Size 12 Narrow, fits as expected.

Finding a light weight hiking boot like this (any shoe, really) in a men’s 12 Narrow is like finding a needle in a hay stack. I can’t run down to Dicks or Cabelas and buy a reasonably priced shoe and when I do find my size, I usually have to pay A LOT for them and I usually have to settle for whatever color/model is available (very limited selections). For the price, this boot is a great value and it was available in two colors - I picked the gray. With a medium weight sock, these fit very well and are very comfortable for all day wear. Last camping trip was cold and rainy and my feet were warm and dry all day (several days actually… it rained a lot!). Only time will tell how well these will hold up and I certainly don’t expect to have them hold up as well as my all leather Red Wing Irish Setters, but my Red Wings are really heavy and for general daily wear, I prefer something lighter. Wearing the Red Wings all day is a workout due to their weight, but these boots are perfect for light/medium duty use and they are exactly what I needed. So far, so good and if I can get a couple of seasons out of them, I will definitely consider buying these again.
