    • The caps on the top fell off I had to add screws.

taking off a star because the top part the end caps fell off almost immediately and it was sliding around. To fix it I found 3 tiny screws and put them in the holes on the top. That stopped the side to side motion. Other than that these ARE the blackout shades beware of the ones that are "translucent" and you can see shadows through them. These are all the exact same if you get one that is a blackout shade. The parts the shade it is all identical so you just get the one with the best disount. i think the sliding around end caps is hit or miss. I returned one because of it. Putting screws in the holes (1/4" long) fixed it. Other than that. If you want it REALLY dark in your camper AND no metal clanging sounds from the RV blinds these are pretty good. You cannot see through them and I slept until 8 the first night I got them. Also if someone leaves on their RV lights at a the campsite you wont see it. These blackout everything. The string on the side is a bit cheap. It feels like that wont last but we will see if it fails Ill be back to edit the review and drop it to one star. Time will tell on that one. ... show more

falling apart when I opened the box. worthless instructions. cord knotted up on one set and completely loose on the other making it hard to hand for installation.. end caps broken. can't be installed.

What in the actual *bleep* with the strings being at the bottom? EDIT: At first, I was very confused as to how to keep the shades raised. I finally deciphered the badly translated instructions and figured out to wrap the cord around the plastic spool thing. It functions, but it's very awkward. You can only raise one side at a time, wrap the cord around the spool, then raise the other. Then you have a loop of string dangling from the bottom. This puts the strings right in the way of my dogs' heads when they look through the window. I'm uncertain they'll they'll last longer than 6 months in full time RV life with dogs. But we'll see. Also, when I pull one cord to raise them, the plastic ends come out of the shade base and then the base slides, so I have to hold the base very firmly to get the string to pull. If you had two people, it would be easier. Weird. BUT, they look super nice and they really help block the sun and give your AC a break. If you don't need to raise and lower a few times a day, these would work fine. The fit is perfect. ... show more
