The description is right. This bar is large! It is heavy. It is lasting a long time. There is lots of lather and it smells good. I will try some more of the scents when this one starts to go away. I am thinking it will last 8 weeks or more! Not bad!

Tbf I have a sensitivity to fragrance. I thought since this had such great reviews it would be good but the smell is not leathery to me at all. It’s a bit sweet actually which I’m not fond of. I haven’t been able to bring myself to use it for this reason and since it’s huge that’s a shame. I’m going to make myself use this bar up anyway to not waste it but if you are sensitive to fragrance this is not for you. ******* Update: so I started using the soap and while I still don’t get leather, I do get a whiff of the leaf and it’s a nice smell not too strong and it lathers well and does a good job. I was wrong and raised my star rating. The smell is very light and did not give me headaches despite my being sensitive to strong artificial smells. I use nothing but Duke Cannon soaps anymore. I think they're quite easily the best of the specialty men's bar soap brands that have popped up in the last few years. -The scents are always amazing. This is probably my favorite one. It smells pleasant and masculine. My wife likes it too, so that's a plus. -They last forever. These soaps usually last me about two months, and that's using them every single day. Of course, that's largely due to the size of the product, which is itself a plus. They're a lot easier to grip and use than smaller soaps. -The price is very good, both for the quality and the longevity of the product. I probably spend less on soaps overall than I did when I was using liquid soaps from the supermarket. ... show more

This is a huge bar of soap, my husband cut it down into thirds to use easier. He really does love the smell of it and says it cleans better then other brands of soap. I will have to add that while my husband likes the smell of it, I’m not a fan. Personally smells like one of my great aunts who was older and smoked. My husband laughed and started reading the package more and on the side it says about “the scents of old leather mixed with fresh tobacco leaves”. So maybe that’s why it smells to me the way it does as far as smoke. All in all the company does make a really good product and my husband ordered another bar of their soap in a different scent to try out once he’s done with this one. His plan is to try each out to see what he likes the best. For the Fresh Cut Pine….my husband likes the smell of it and I agree this one smells the best so far. He is still going to try out the other scents and when he does I’ll let you know what they smell like. This one is a refreshing smell and not over powering. Can’t honestly compare it to anything like another type of soap just because it has its own smell. My husband can’t figure out what to compare it to either. ... show more

I really like this soap. I've had enough time to go through my first bar which has lasted me over a month. Get ladders well even in very alkaline water. This smell is fantastic. If you like the smell of a humidor. I would call this scent a mixture of Spanish Cedar, leather and tobacco. Just imagine going into a walk-in humidor full of cigars. If I were sitting in a hunting lodge with Alan Quartermaine enjoying a cognac and some conversation I imagine this is what the room would smell like. There is also a lot of sent there to be had. When I step out of the shower the entire bathroom smells like this soap. If you're not into that steer free of this soap. I like to end by saying I miss the days when you could vote a review as unhelpful. I see so many reviews on things like scented soaps that are subjective and some people seem think that their taste is the only one that matters. Many of them also can't even voice what their objections are other than saying unhelpful things like it stinks or it's awful. If you can't be descriptive, accurate and helpful you shouldn't leave a review. ... show more
