I had a little mishap with my vacuum. Long story short, where the hose is glued into the plastic fitting on the vacuum, it came out. After my shock and distain :) I decided to investigate my options for repairing it. According to google there were a couple types of silicone type glues suggested. I even had some gorilla glue on hand. All of these required mixing two parts to activate. Nope, I thought, electrical tape seemed to me to be a better alternative. Wasn’t sure if this would even work, and I didn’t have any electrical tape, so off to Amazon I went. I found the cheapest electrical tape available and hit purchase now. I figured it probably wasn’t a long term solution but it would give me time to research a new vacuum. I was wrong. This tape was unexpectedly very high quality. It was thick but had that flex necessary to lay very flat and it was just the right amount of sticky. The repair looks great, and is holding up wonderfully. No complaints here. I needed electrical tape, this arrived, did electrical tape duties, what more could you ask for? It was the cheapest roll available, it worked great, you get plenty of it. Really hits all the marks.

    • Duck Brand 282289 Electrical Tape - Well Designed And Reliable For The Job

DISCLAIMER: I have to post 2 caveats with this review. I have used this product for electrical work. I know this may sound obvious when you are reviewing electrical tape, but I see a lot of people using this for pickleball paddles, modifying furniture, building keyboards and everything else under the sun. That's awesome if you need electrical tape for one of those purposes, but I have not tested this for any application other than taping electrical connections. The 2nd caveat is that I see they also have a 5 pack that is multi-colored. It's possible that some of the critiques of that 5 pack might be valid but might not apply to the traditional black electrical tape. I have only used the black one, which is why I have included the product code in my review. REVIEW: In my experience, electrical tape is extremely important. From a safety point of view, I will generally only trust this Duck brand and 3M. This specific tape has proven to be reliable and works exactly as I expect it to. In terms of adhesion, electrical tape in general is not meant to be super sticky. It's not uncommon to have to tape and untape connections within a short period of time, sometimes several times in a row. Even still, I have to admit that this particular brand is slightly *less* adhesive than others I have used. For my use case, that is actually preferred. I am often using this snaking wires and it's definitely helpful that I can easily wind and unwind the tape. However, once you have "undone" the tape you sort of have to use a fresh section if you are trying to make a weather tight seal in a place where moisture matters, such as an automotive connection or with external lighting. That is really the only thing I would warn people about with this product, is that be mindful if you remove the tape that the adhesion will not be as good if you reapply it. When applied once and well adhered, the connection is solid. This gives me tons of peace of mind for my projects as safety is always on my mind. CONCLUSION This is a good product that is reliable and a good value for what it does. It may not be perfect for all uses, but for electrical work it's a great option. ... show more

Glad I grabbed this for my dorm toolbox. I use it to wrap my frayed phone charger and it holds pretty tight. Also patched a broken desk lamp cord during finals week and it stayed safe and tidy. The roll is small enough to toss in my backpack, which is nice when friends need quick fixes.

Solid everyday electrical tape for quick fixes and simple projects. Sticks well, stretches easily, and wraps cleanly without too much hassle. It’s not the thickest or most heavy-duty tape out there, but for the price it works exactly as expected. Great to keep in a junk drawer or toolbox.
