Nice dual speed buffer. I use a woven wheel for polishing up parts before welding. Nice and smooth. Great $ for quality. Comes 90% assembled, only needs buffing wheels installed.

Runs smoothly and quietly. 8 inch size so nice giving more room to work with larger objects. I wanted the low speed option for soft material buffing like plastics and acrylics. Lower speed bogs down briefly if firm pressure applied, but not problematic. Rather, it can be a good reminder to back off on pressure applied and be patient, let the buffer do the job. For heavier duty polishing - for example I refurbished a 24 inch long heavy brass lamp base - this buffer worked well to remove leftover stubborn lacquer and then polish out scratches. Higher speed never bogged down. Recommend getting a buffing wheel cleaning tool as well.

This polisher is great. The shafts are 3/4” and make it hard to find attachments and wheels. I would give it 5 stars except for a few things; 1 the large shafts, 2 the product came with the switch wired backwards, and 3 the 3 threaded holes on the ends of the grinder housing for attachments are smaller than industry standards and full off paint. That being said it has long shafts making it pretty much useless for adding attachments like a standard 8” grinder. Runs strong, quiet, and smooth (some little vibrations).

I hesitated to buy this buffing wheel as I'm a knife maker and I really wanted a variable speed unit instead, but the cost for variable speed is spendy. So thought I'd give this a try and see if the low speed was sufficient for buffing my finished leather sheaths. In short, it does a great job when you need controlled buffing. My only critical feedback would be it would be nice if the base was a little taller as there is very little room between the bottom of the buffing wheel and the table. As a quick fix, I just put it on a block of wood and bought me a few extra inches.
