  • awesome energy efficiency, works perfectly and quietly
Running like a champ for weeks now, excellent product! The Gamma is probably the most energy-efficient in-home (120V) BTC mining solution available at about 20W/1.2TH/s (i.e. 16.67 J/TH), and not the best but still reasonable initial cost for its performance. Very quiet fan, easy to use and configure, handy mini display for basic info including configuration SSID and status IP using HTTP. Uses stratum+tcp as expected, I got it communicating with both ckpool.org and my own local proxy, no issues at all. ... show more

  • Great product out of the box
Fantastic product. Super easy setup. Out of the box functionality. Decent thermals. If overclocking will need heatsinks. Great price from a company that cares about there products.

  • Bitaxe Gamma 602 - reliable lotto mining!
Works great out of the box at stock settings. The only drawback is the fan is too loud. Thermals are good - stays at 60C on the ASIC chip and around 75C on the VRM. Runs at around 19 Watts at 525 MHz/1150 mV on default settings. Averages 1.07 TH/s with zero errors reported at stock, with some spikes above 1.2 TH/s. Been mining with it for a week straight on a pool hoping to hit the lottery, or at least a share. If you want to overlock to 2 TH/s, you can replace the heatsink, fan, power supply, and slap the whole board itself into a new case or stand pretty easily. Seems like a great value compared to other standard 602 Bitaxe Gamma miners out there, both for the unit and solid build quality. Easy to setup with a web browser on your home network. I really like the enclosed case it comes with, although the case is form-fit for the stock parts, so if you decide to upgrade the internals for overclocking, you'll need a bigger case or stand. Overall, I like it at its current price! ... show more

  • Runs very hot, also a 601 not 602
This thing is a piece of junk. If I didnt already replace the barrel power connector with a much better and safer XT30 socket, I'd be sending this back. The ASIC chips overheat like no bodies business. Even with a replacement darkhorse heatsink, noctua fan at 100% and copper heatsinks on the voltage regulator, both are consistently way too high. I have a modest overclock going, one that my other bitaxe can do on stock PSU/barrel without breaking a sweat. In fact, that ones running at 800 frequency and ASIC temps are around 55C. This thing can barely do 720 and constantly goes back and forth between 69.9C and 70.3C. I may have just got the worst board with horrible silicon luck, but take this as a warning. Look elsewhere. ALSO. This is a 601 board, not 602. And it's case is horrible for heat management, my temps were even worse with that POS thing on it. ... show more

  • Just as good as all the other Gamma 601’s on the market
Just as good as every other Gamma 601 miner on the market. The ONLY downside is the fan if the unit is running hot. It’s noisy at 100% but at 50-70% it’s fine. Overclocked mine to 750mhz out of the box with no issues. Needs better heatsink and fan for higher but it’s great even at 750mhz. 1.5T

  • Fun geeky gadget to get you started into crypto mining!
I bought this to solo mine bitcoin but it can also mine other crypto. This is a neat little device that is super simple to set up and works as advertised. Please keep in mind the fan on this is loud and you can hear it in the next room no problem so make sure you have a place to keep it that is out of the way and not in an area that you don't want what a lot of fan noise. ... show more

  • Works, but noisy.
I was excited to get this because it comes in a nice case and looks like a finished product. The miner looked great on arrival, and it works fine, but the buzz from the fan was so loud that I could hear it in the surrounding rooms. The stock cooling is just not sufficient to keep the noise down. My tear-down of the unit showed the following: - Way too much thermal paste applied between the ASIC and stock heat sink - The stock cooling solution is undersized for the ASIC's TDP (fixed with a larger heatsink + cutting a larger case hole for said heat sink) - Air flow is restricted by the case (fixed by drilling additional vent holes in the front and back) I was so bothered by the noise that I voided the warranty with modifications so that I could keep it running and give my ears a rest. I also traded out the stock fan with similar sized Noctua. It's significantly less efficient, but it is quieter under load, and I am able to maintain temps around 63C on stock settings with an ambient temp of 24C/76F. With the mods in place, I now only hear the miner at a whisper when in the same room. ... show more

  • Great Low-Power ASIC Miner for Solo Bitcoin Mining
Great little home miner. Easy to set up, very quiet, and extremely low power usage for 1.2 TH/s. Build quality feels solid just not a great fit for cooling. Perfect for solo mining at home.
