  • A must own for any drummer
Style: Pad Set w/ Stand
I cannot talk about how much I love this thing. It works in tight spaces, it's quite, it's simple and it's effective. In the package it gives you enough pads to practice on a simple small setup. Like a 4 piece kit with a ride cymbal. Personally I customized the setup and added other hardware such as a high hat stand, a boom and a straight stand to hold plastic practice cymbals to closer match my current setup. By adding my own practice cymbals it frees up the kit to utilize a 5 piece setup. It's such a small footprint I set it up in green rooms, backstage, on the street and even in the hallway of a tour bus. This thing has allowed me to practice everyday without bothering the neighbors, day or night. It has been one of the best tools I've ever owned as a pro drummer. But not just for the pros, I suggest this to anyone, beginner, pros, teachers and students. Obviously it's better to learn on an actual drum kit but if you can't or can't afford an electronic kit to practice on. This was a god send for me. Great quality, great design and very well planned out piece of gear. If you're a drummer you need this. ... show more

  • Great Practice Set to reduce the possibility of pissing the people around you off
Style: Pad Set w/ Stand
I got this practice set to start playing the drums again, I have a full size kit at my parents house but have not taken it with me due to its size, and mainly, the volume. This has been a great fit - it still makes noise of course, if you have played on a practice pad you know that they can still be noisy but this is a big reduction. I have it set up with the cymbals with mutes from my full kit and it plays just like a full kit. Seems very durable, and was easy to set up. It has been a great addition and now I can practice without having the whole neighborhood critique my timing. ... show more

  • Makes practicing drums so easy
Style: Pad Set w/ Stand
This is my sons go to practice kit. He will be attending Berklee school of music and great for an apartment. So much better than just a pad. Would definitely buy again

  • I teach percussion, and I recommend this product
Style: Pad Set w/ Stand
1. Lightweight. My son can move it easily to practice anywhere. 2. It's a durable DW stand w/ adjustable arms. DW is a highly reputable manufacturer. 3. Pads are removable, yet also have enough memory locks to keep them from changing position when you want them to stay put. 4. Best price compared to similar products on the market. The feel is good, the setup was "normal" as far as drum hardware goes ( I had no problem, but for my son he had to learn how the legs, wing nuts, etc... worked), the flexibility/adjustability is great. Can be stored very compact, sets up very similar to real drums. ... show more

  • Sturdy, Compact, Basic
Style: Pad Set w/ Stand
Although it takes a few practice sessions to get comfortable playing on, this setup is worth the effort. I live in a house that is divided into apartments. I could never have my actual drum set here, so I purchased this. My favorite thing about it is how compact it is. I can carry it from room to room with one hand, and my sticks in my other. The adjustments are a little minimal, but I have had no problem getting them as close as possible to my taste, and then just getting used to it. Some people complain about the lack of pads, but this is plenty for me. All my lessons were on a 50 year old version of this, and it works just fine for learning 4-way independence and stick control. People have also mentioned that the pads come loose when playing. I have not had this happen once. Pros: Compact Good Bounce Quiet Price Cons: Takes a bit to adjust to feel My sticks make a squeak sound on the brand new pads. Like sneakers on a basketball court. Limited adjustments Crappy assembling instructions. ... show more

  • Good build quality, but pad positioning can be challenging.
Style: Pad Set w/ Stand
I've only owned this set up for a few days at the time of this review, so I can't speak to durability yet (I'll update in the future). The build quality seems to be solid, with my only slight concern for the strength and longevity of the main twisting clamp the holds the vertical pole at the desired height; I think it'd be more stable with a better clamp. The whole thing goes together fairly quickly (<15 min) once unpacked, but I wouldn't say it's a travel set up ("Go Anywhere") as taking apart and setting up frequently could wear the above mentioned clamp out pretty quickly. Also, if it were intended to be a travel set up, it'd be nice to have a carry bag to easily transport and store it. The pads seem to have good rebound, but if you're hoping to have control over the alignment of the logos when you screw the pads on, it's not really possible unless you compromise how tight/loose you want the pads to sit on the tree. Positioning of the pads is a fairly easy, but not necessarily 'realistic' in relation to each other, so while you can get somewhat close to what your kit might be set up like, you probably won't get a very accurate replication of your kit's positioning; not a big deal to me since I feel it's really more for just getting your arms/body moving around. The kick pad is firm and can be positioned with clamps on the back, as well as using the main pole it's attached to. A drum key is provided and is used to make all necessary adjustments. I bought this so that I can practice into the evening, and looking forward to seeing how it holds up and how much it helps. I'm rating it 4 stars for the positioning challenge of the pads and not having yet spent enough time on it, yet. ... show more

  • Perfect for practice!
Style: Pad Set w/ Stand
I live on the third floor of an apartment with pretty thin walls, so this kit is great if you're somewhere where you can't make a lot of noise but still want to practice and work on your chops. The pads are very durable and are really good quality. At first I thought they would be flimsy because they are pretty thin, but they can definitely withstand heavy playing and the rebound on the pads is great. Only thing I'm not crazy about is the bass drum pad- maybe I just have to get used to it more Overall, this kit is great. This is definitely NOT an alternative to a real kit, but if you need something to play on thats quiet or you don't want to get rusty, it gets the job done! ... show more
