These little gems were a very pleasant surprise. They look like air pods but they are very good hearing aids. They last all day and more and charge easily. 5 levels of volume that accentuate the higher frequencies where most people have their hearing loss. A terrific value. Highly recommended.

I bought these for my 85-year-old mother. We’ve previously bought prescription hearing aids, but she struggled putting them on and isn’t tech savvy so couldn’t use the phone app that comes with them. We’ve also tried other OTC devices, but those didn’t work out for various reasons. One brand she wouldn’t remember to turn off so the batteries would be dead every other day; another seemed to work, but then the product suddenly stopped working (poor quality); another had excessive whistling; and another just looked ugly. Then we found these, and we’ve been very happy with them so far. First off, they look nice. They look like air pods and not hearing aids, so she doesn’t feel self-conscience wearing them. They are very comfortable and don’t cause her ear to itch because they don’t insert into the ear cavity. She can put them on and take them off with ease (which is important because this can be difficult for the elderly). They auto turn on and off as soon as you put them in/take them out of the charging case – I love this feature! It’s easy to adjust the volume (and there are some nice videos online that show you how to use these in case you don’t like to read instructions). My mom primarily uses them for watching TV and she says that they work great – she can hear the voices loud and clear and she hasn’t experienced any whistling (we’ve had them for ~3 months so far). I wasn’t sure what to expect with these given the low price point, but I’m extremely happy I bought these. Such a great value and most importantly my mom has hearing aids that she likes!     • Outstanding OTC hearing aid even for complicated hearing loss like mine

2 months ago I suffered sudden sensorineural hearing loss in one ear. I lost 78% of my hearing in that ear, largely in middle range. My other ear already had upper frequency hearing loss from a virus I had decades earlier. After getting quick treatment with steroid ear shots starting within 4 days and continuing weekly for 4 weeks I regained about 40% of my hearing, still a significant loss, with the middle frequency loss seriously distorting voices. My ENT says my hearing may continue to improve SLIGHTLY. I decided to purchase OTC products just to get through my initial weeks of treatment until I could go back to audiologist to get a custom EXPENSIVE hearing aid. First, I bought Apple Airpods. The ability to program audio settings based on your individual hearing loss range solved my problem of phone calls and made listening to music once again a joy. I wish Apple made OTC hearing aids! The Live Listen feature using your phone mic and airpods as kind of makeshift hearing aids isn’t great, however. Echoes and lag are terrible. Next I decided to try these hearing aids which are not programmable but offer great volume amplification at a super low price. And basically look like black airpods. The case recharges the hearing aids 4 times on a charge (like airpods) and the hearing aids can be worn 20 hours at a stretch! These. Were. Gamechangers. Long story short: while I would love programmable hearing aids with this kind of performance, fit and aesthetic style, the noise cancellation and volume increase settings are so good I am happy to use them as I see if my hearing continues to improve. They don’t whistle. They look cool. They are very comfortable. I splashed water on them and they didn’t break. They are easy to use and even with my moderate mid-range hearing loss they make everything understandable, from conversations to movies to speakerphone. And the battery lasts 20 HOURS!!! I love them so much I bought a second backup pair. I believe these easily compare to other amplifier-only OTC hearing aids selling for 3-4 times as much. ... show more

I bought these for my wife whose suffering from hearing loss. This is the third hearing aid she's she's had and is by far the best one. Her 1st one cost $600.00 and gave her nothing but trouble. They squealed in her ears intermittently, amplified all the wrong sounds and then broke in less than a year. Then I got her the Avantree PHA15 - OTC Hearing Amplifier Aids with Bluetooth but she disliked those almost instantly. The Bluetooth was confusing as was the 4 modes of operation, it also amplified unwanted noises and the last straw was that they kept cutting out for no reason and cutting back in. they were unnecessarily complicated. So those went back and these (DROWELL EAR Hearing Aids) were chosen and I guess the third time's a charm because this device is great! It turns on automatically when you open the case and turns back off again when you put them away. She just puts them in her ears and they work. Perfect! Simple! No squealing, no amplifying unwanted noises like pages turning or a clock ticking, and the sound is far superior to the $600.00 models. It's only the 1st day with these but she likes them very much and I have a good feeling about them. I'll come back and amend this review if anything happens to warrant it. However, so far, so good.
