I had one of those cheap clear plastic bobbin holders. It rocked along for years until one day it vibrated off of my sewing table. It cracked and broke. Bobbins went flying. I went looking for something more durable and sturdy. Of course, Dritz came through for me when I went looking. They have been making sewing supplies for years. Love this bobbin case. The foam keeps the bobbins in place so they don't twirl, unwind, or tangle their tails. Unlike simple plastic boxes that can knock open very easily, this lid snaps closed to "lock". I bought this case because I have two machines with two different sizes in bobbins, hoping this would easily differentiate the which goes to which machine. I'm thinking of switching all my bobbins to these cases. ... show more

This works just fine. Keeps bobbins organized without a bunch of thread getting twisted & knotted. I would recommend. I don't anticipate needing more storage, but would consider purchasing another if my collection of assorted bobbins ever exceeds 28.

    • I love securely nestled bobbins and lids that don’t fall off!
I was excited to find these offered through Amazon! I had one prior to this order, so I already knew how good it was in comparison to the basic plastic boxes most of us have. After moving to a new state, I could not find them on a store shelf - Amazon to the rescue! I purchased these to replace the irritating bobbin boxes from when I first started sewing. You know the ones I’m talking about - the clear, hard plastic boxes most universal bobbins come in, whose lids must be taped down because they easily fall off if tipped when putting away (or accidentally dropped), and the bobbins are loose, so they all fall out (and roll under the smallest spaces)! Very irritating, but I was very happy when I first found this box, and was extra excited when I realized I could purchase more here. With the foam in these boxes, each bobbins is securely nestled in its own space - not so tightly as to make it difficult to remove for the average person (can’t speak for those with dexterity conditions) but it won’t fall out if tipped, and the lids snap securely closed without a great deal of force. No more chasing bobbins under furniture! Although more expensive than the basic, clear box, I find the quality of the plastic for these to be very good (just the right amount of hardness and thickness - neither brittle nor flimsy), and the much improved functionality (lack of frustration with lids and scattered bobbins) is just right for me to feel good about the investment. ... show more

This bobbin case securely hold 28 bobbins in place. My only complaint is with Amazon who gave me an original date I would receive it, but it didn’t arrive on that date. It arrived 3 days later. Obviously no bobbin emergency, but Amazon is messing up arrival dates more frequently over the past 6 months ... show more

I'm new to sewing, and I spent some time picking out my notions. This box is made of a more durable plastic than most, and will not shatter if you drop it. Also, the foam inside allows you to tuck in the loose thread from the bobbin with and overall neater look. This bobbin organizer has been a huge help in keeping all of my bobbins organized as I switch threads frequently on my sewing machine. Each bobbin fits into a firm foam pocket very securely and the thread doesn't come loose at all. The lid has a good snap lock on it and looks like it will last for a long time.
