The ZTUKOMN 4" Heavy Duty Drill Press Vise with Multi-Groove Vice Jaw Pads and Quick Adjustment Button. I needed a small vise for my drill press in my workshop and this one looked like a good deal. Most of the projects I work on are not close tolerance jobs so I did not need an expensive precision vise. The vise came with jaw pads which was a nice feature. It also included the hardware to mount the vise. The best feature is the quick button which allows you to move the jaw quickly to the working piece before tightening.     • Good vice for a drill press or mortising machine
I'm using this vice on my drill press when I don't want/need to pull out my heavy cross-sliding vice. It handles light work (which is most of what I do) just fine. The included bolts fit the T-Slots of my drill press table. The plastic jaws are a nice touch for delicate projects.

This is a very nice, medium duty drill press vice. The overall quality appears to be good with no obvious flaws or defects in the casting, the machining, or the finish. The vice screw turns smoothly and the quick release function allows you to rapidly adjust to varying stock sizes. The jaws line perfectly and the magnetic soft jaws will be ideal for working with softer metals, plastics, and wood parts. The soft jaws are molded with grooves which will help when holding round and/or awkwardly shaped items. At 6 lbs 13 oz I would call this more medium duty than heavy duty, but it is certainly adequate for hobby use. At $37 I would consider this a good value and I recommend this vice. ... show more

The jaws adjusted as they should and the button adjust is a good add for convenience. The magnetic soft jaw covers work as they should and no issues with them. Overall. I have been using the vice from my milling machine when I have needed one for my drill press. Its' heavy and narrow in comparison and you have to pay attention to where you are drilling to keep from drilling into the ways of the vise. This vise is a nice upgrade in that it's a lower profile and wider, making it more stable as well as offering more space between the ways for drilling. The magnetic soft jaws are also great to have making it so much easier to hold round pieces and items that I don't want to get marred by the vice jaws. The quick release is a great feature making it easier to adjust to the size I need without having to turn the handle a hundred times. The vise also comes with 4 stainless steel nuts and bolts for securing it to the drill press table. In my case they are just slightly too big for the tee slots in my table but certainly a nice extra. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. In the original review below I stated I would try to show the mounting system I came up with for my full size drill press. The end product is shown in the included short video. This sled works great! I can move the vise all directions and lock it in right where I need it. The sled and the vise hold super tight without even a hint of wobble or slippage. The sled design is simple. I cut a 1" board to the size of the base of the vise. I drilled holes at the outer end of each mounting position. I then transferred the holes to a 1" board that I cut to the width of the drill press bed. On the bottom of the board, I used a Forstner bit to recess the hole so the head of the bolt holding the vise would not touch the bed of the drill press when sliding. I marked off the channels for the bolts coming up from the bed and drilled out what I could with the drill bit on the drill press. I then clamped the piece in my tabletop vise and used a scrap piece to guide my oscillating saw along a straight line to make the channel complete. My drill press took 3/8" bolts for the bed mounting slots. These had the perfect head size to fit nicely in the slot allowing tightening of the wing nuts a breeze. For this specific design the bolts I used were 2". This minor build that takes about $10 in hardware from a big box store and a small amount of wood, make this vise a stellar addition to your full size drill press as well as the smaller models it is intended for. Should I be patenting this? The vise arrived pretty much exactly as it was described by the seller. I feel this would be a welcome addition to any wood shop. As I state in the video, the vise is not designed to affix to a larger drill press. I will craft something up and I am 100% sure this will fulfill my needs and then some. It would also work really well as a bench top vise. If you are looking for a vise in this size and type, this should be the one for you. This is a very heavy duty vice. The quick release button is the greatest you can push it to tighten or to loosen and saves a lot of time turning to tighten or loosen, first one I have seen with this and it’s works great. I love that it has inserts for clamping fragile item so you don’t scratch them. The only problem I had was the bolts were to big for my old school vise but not a problem I had smaller ones on hand. It lined up perfectly and works great and I’m very happy with this. ... show more

At this price, this Low Profile Vise is a good value. It's well made and functions smoothly. The side slotted mounting rails make it easy to C-Clamp in different locations to hold items when not in the shop.
