After trying several times to fix a leaking adapter exactly like this one I purchased a new adaptor, lubricated the O-Ring with Vix and slid onto the pipe. No leaks.

Overall, this is a pretty straightforward kit and easy to get started with, even for someone without a lot of prior experience. The components are simple and the setup process is fairly intuitive. That said, the instructions could definitely use a bit more detail. There were a few steps that weren’t as clearly explained as they could have been, which led to some guesswork during assembly. Because of that, I had to make a couple of adjustments along the way to get everything fitting properly. Once everything was set up correctly, it worked as expected. Very poorly made and did not work. The parts do not screw into themselves far enough to get flush with the wall. I was already frustrated that the trim kit I bought didn’t work, and then waited 2 days to receive this, only to find out it won’t work either. Extremely frustrated.
