Description

A Cosmic Horror Fishing Adventure! DREDGE is a fishing adventure with a sinister undercurrent. Sell your catch, upgrade your vessel and search the depths for long-buried relics. Explore a mysterious archipelago and discover why some things are best left forgotten. Throughout each in-game day, players will be sailing, managing their state of panic, and making dialogue choices that affect the characters around them. Over time, players will begin researching upgrades, then using those upgrades to progress their boat through the upgrade tree, reading books to gain passive skills, finding relics and conquering even bigger and difficult fish. The main progression of the game will be helping townsfolk with quests, defeating bosses and piecing together the hidden story of DREDGE.

Watched a video recommendation from Switch Watch because I would of over looked this Indie game. Was intrigued by the gameplay & unique graphics. I tend to like fishing game in rpg’s so I was very curious about being a fisherman on this tiny boat traversing at night when things start to turn very creepy. The story so far is about mysterious incidents after some fishermen discovered cursed buried treasures in the sea. The gameplay is relaxing, engaging & very tense when daylight drops. Lot’s of upgrades and add ons for your boat to catch bigger sea life of all kinds . For example you can buy crab crates to drop & pick up later. Don’t want spoil to much but the developers reall put a ton of love into this unique fishing game with a twist. If you been eyeing this game , I highly recommend it if your burnt out on other genres. ... show more

The game was great, tough enough to be interesting, well designed, and extensive. However, once you beat the story, caught everything, unlocked all the whole boat upgrades... you're unlikely to pick it up again owing to the lack of unique replay. (I should mention that is a failing of the genre, not this particular game) For the price, it is very good game, and I recommend picking it up (used, don't bother with the unlockables). I got a few weeks of casual play-time out of it, and enjoyed every minute of it. ... show more

Exactly as the review title says. I’m going to sound like a shill here but this is quite honestly the best game I’ve played in a long, long time, indie or not. It satisfies that craving for a good story that you pick up on yourself, the art style is beautiful, and there’s a really good amount of variety that keeps it interesting. Plus, the natural progression of things in the game/story make it one of those games that’s so hard to put down. I love this game so so much, and recommend it to everyone ... show more

This is a pretty easy game to just lose a few hours to at a time. The gameplay loop of relaxing, but time-sensitive fishing/side questing/skill tree-ing (boat upgrades), paired with the unsettling soundscape and atmosphere of night fishing amongst the monsters of the deep is pretty engaging. I've put in a ton of time meandering, without really progressing the story too far (a handful of objectives), because it has been an enjoyable loop. ... show more

No real idea what I was getting into, but it was very enjoyable. Just your run of the mill, fairly slow paced, problem solving, fishing, horror game. I feel that it was well worth the price and time I spent on it. It's not the game of the year, but it was my game of the month. I loved this! The soft graphics give it a childish feel, though the plot is gloomy and dark. I won't say nothing telling, you just gotta play it! I found myself wrapped into the story and wanting to keep playing
