[Update, July 29, 2022 โ the company responded quickly to my email about the description. Good marks to them for the quick reply.] As I interpreted the "mini clongs" description (as of the date I'm writing this review), they are metal and have silicone tips. Neither is correct. They appear to be made almost entirely out of plasticโsturdy, but in any case apparently not metal. And, the "mini" model does not have silicone ends. It's relatively smooth plastic all the way out to the end. I'm sure they will work ok, assuming I don't have any problems with the lock mechanism that other people have described. Only two stars for ease of holding. They are a bit slippery and this could have been mitigated easily with some kind of non-slip material placed along the shafts. This also appears to be the case with their more expensive models. The company should take note of the non-slip materials that several competing brands, costing noticeably less, have incorporated into their handles. Considering the relatively high cost of the larger models from Dreamfarm, this strikes me as a major design shortcoming.

This was a Mothers Day Present and it was perfect. My Mom cooks a lot and has all the tools necessary for any kind of cooking, but she didn't' have THIS. The unique design makes it easy to use and it can be set anywhere. She is now using it all the time and has thought about getting one or two more just to have when she is cooking several dishes. Glad I saw this and was able to get it for her. When it comes to cooking, she is surprised by much, but this utensil definitely caught her off guard in a good way.
