I’ll be honest, when these arrived folded in half, I had severe misgivings. For the price (around $60), I knew not to expect a true cowboy boot, and the listing was clear that the material was synthetic, but I do think it’s problematic to fold the shafts—even after 9 days unfolded and stuffed with paper to straighten them, the wrinkles from folding are still visible if you look closely. I finally wore them out for the day after the 9-day straightening attempt, and was pleasantly surprised at their comfort. While the toe feels pretty narrow, I walked about 12,000 steps in them today without any discomfort. The interior of the entire boot has a soft, cushy lining, so even the shaft didn’t really chafe at the upper ankle area, which generally occurs with most new tall boots. The sole is also nicely cushioned, giving a nice spring to your step. My one complaint in terms of comfort was that my feet became quite hot while I was seated in a theater for 2 1/2 hours in a way that would not have occurred with real leather boots. Looks-wise, opinions were split in my household: my husband and 16 year-old son thought they looked cheap, but my very cool 18 year-old son thought they looked cool. I think they’re cute and fun, but agree that folks who know cowboy boots and high-quality footwear will easily detect that these are not top-quality, made-to-last boots but rather a fast fashion imitation. I suspect these will hold up pretty well for a while, as they didn’t show any sign of wear after a full day of sight-seeing and concert-going. They’re great for a fun evening/weekend outfit, costume, concert, or festival, and could be worked into an artsy/casual work wardrobe as well. I don’t love that they’re synthetic fast fashion, though—I own four pairs of properly constructed all-leather cowboy boots, and those will last longer than my lifetime with proper care—heirloom quality. These, on the other hand, will end up in a landfill well before my leather boots are handed down to the next generation, and that makes them a poor ecological choice. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. As you can see from my videos and photos, -these boots are well made. The embroidery is neat and well done. -I chose red and...by golly I got red boots! They're very eye-catching and not meant for anyone trying to blend in. Actually I really like the color. -The sole has a small amount of tread. Just enough that you probably can't country western dance in these, but not enough to give you traction on ice. So these are clearly wear around town shoes which is why I posted photos in (mismatched) tunic and leggings. -I'm not sure how well they would work with jeans because the tops of the boots are flared. I think that would make pulling the pant legs over your boots very clunky -the boot loops were very handy and helped put these on. I liked those. -While they don't claim to be leather, the uppers are relative soft and flexible. -The biggest problem for me is that they didn't fit my size 10 feet. I don't usually wear Wide, but in these shoes, I wish I had ordered a wide if they even have it. If your shoes are on the edge, perhaps try sizing up and see if that works for you. They were quite uncomfortable, but that was largely a function of fit, and the fact that they were new. Since it's not leather, it will soften up some, but not a whole lot.
