It was with a heavy heart that I recently laid to rest the Wacom tablet that's served me faithfully since I got it as a gift more than ten years ago. As much as I wanted to replace it with another Wacom, they're way beyond my hobbyist price range, so I decided to just bite the bullet and try one of the more affordable competitors - clearly I chose Acepen, and I'm glad I did! What has impressed me most is the tablet's size. It's comparable to a sheet of paper, which makes it so much easier for me to draw naturally. Even after years using my previous tablet (which was considerably smaller), there was always a learning curve when I switched between physical and digital sketching. This tablet is roomy enough that I don't have to change my natural hand movements to fit its dimensions. Installation was another bonus. The Acepen website was easy to navigate, and I had the correct driver downloaded and installed within minutes. It's good to go right from there, but if you take a minute to program the hotkeys on the tablet itself you can customize them for easy access while drawing. A number of accessories are included, like replacement stylus nibs, different USB connectors, and a half-glove ostensibly to keep your hand from triggering the tablet surface as you work. I haven't needed it yet, but it'll be useful to have available if and when I do! The cord is fabric-wrapped to keep it from getting tangled, which is much appreciated. There are some drawbacks to this tablet, of course, the biggest being the responsiveness of the stylus. Because it isn't battery-powered or rechargeable, it's nowhere near as full-featured as, say, an Apple pen. Tablets at this level just don't offer the pressure sensitivity of the higher-priced options. However, that's just par for the budget-conscious course, so I don't consider it a drawback to the product itself. Overall, this is a big, easy-to-use, functional tablet at an excellent price, perfect for beginners, students, and casual artists. Honestly, you can't go wrong! ... show more

It's a graduation gift for my nephew. He likes it very much. He's an art major. He uses it at home every day, he feels satisfied, so his parents are happy, too. It's great for beginners like me. The tablet is as it is described. I'm quite satisfied with it's performance so far. I give 4 stars because I'm Having a few problems setting p keys and configuring the pen but I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually.

This tablet was a very promising, cheap purchase for a beginner in digital art, but after only a few hours of fiddling with this tablet, I chose to return it and find something better. The box itself and the items inside were well made and promising, especially for the price. Although the cable was a little short for my purposes, I had planned on buying an extension for usb to usb connection to alleviate that problem. After watching a few reviews on the item, I installed the driver for the device and plugged it in to give it a test drive. The first issue I had was the feel of the pen nib against the tablet. It's somehow both very course and too smooth. I did not enjoy the feel of the pen on the tablet. However, the main reason why I returned the tablet was the driver/software for this device. After installing the driver to control the buttons and scaling of the tablet to my PC, the scale would constantly change despite setting the scale to be one to one with my main monitor. There is a possibility that having a dual monitor setup caused some issues with the driver, but then this would not be useful for me anyway. The worst offense is that I could not actually use this tablet to draw on GIMP, my preferred photoshop program. There is no setting in the driver for me to fix this issue and I could not find any information online. Thus, I have refunded the tablet the day I received it. From the description, perhaps you may find success with this tablet on a single monitor with specific programs, but for me this was a frustrating mess. ... show more

I have had this tablet for just under a year. I recently had to replace the pen and then a few weeks later and now the tablet won't work at all. I've gotten no response from customer service. Is the price worth it for 1 year? I don't know. It's better than a back up tablet I purchased (it is smaller and thus cheaper). But overall, I'm disappointed. Very easy to use, details are clearly. I bought it for my class so I can take notes. But my son loves this more than me.
