  • Nostalgia is a hell of a drug
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5/Standard Ed... Edition: Standard Edition
I would be lying if i said that I didn't buy this without a TON of nostalgia. The game itself isn't bad, but feels like it lacks a few features and characters. But the gameplay feels familiar and fantastic. The characters interactions with each other are exactly what this series is all about.

  • Best Dragon ball game
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5/Standard Ed... Edition: Standard Edition
OK, I know that's all opinion title but yes, it's one of the better dragon ball games out there. It has a lot of controls and functions from blocking to counter attacking to teleporting to pursuit to massive fireballs to counters within encounters and of course, all your favorite characters come in, but I think one of the best things about this game besides visual, they hit it out of the ballpark by having massive amount of characters. Storyline is basically just another dragon ball game just retold and visually repackage with more characters. You do have what if storylines but they focus primarily on the same events. I really do like how they took tiny little character traits from the characters and layer them all over the game itself like for example, master Roshi's house every time you go in there, he says something that he would say or when you talk to Bulma or moving around of the train. It's pretty much exactly like the anime. I also like the reading section of the encyclopedia that allows you to look into all the characters. It's nice to go in there and have Bulma talk to you about it or go back-and-forth with Chi Chi with comments about vegat etc it's a nice Touch. They really did good with the fan service. There's a lot of customization now. I will be 100% honest I bought this game a few months back have not finished it yet, but you know... I already know the ending of these, I've just been caught up with the backlog of games so I've been slowly dipping into it back-and-forth because again if you watched the anime before you already know what's taking place it's just told by a different angle in the graphics and moves obviously improves. (ROSTER TO MASSIVE) like I said a lot of customization and it's cool that you have massive different characters to use. The reason I haven't focused heavily on this game isn't because it's not good or it's boring and it's not because I already understood everything of the story. It's just that it has a lot of controls and movements that you want to invest some time into it so you can be extremely proficient in the game. Jumping around from the last Dragon Ball game on the PS4 into this is like completely two different animals. If you don't know anything about Dragon Ball, you're not really familiar or haven't seen everything it does a pretty good job of telling the story of what took place ... show more

  • Finally, the Tenkaichi sequel we’ve been waiting for
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5/Standard Ed... Edition: Standard Edition
Been waiting almost 20 years for a proper follow-up to Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and this pretty much delivers. The fights feel exactly how Dragon Ball should. Chaotic, over-the-top, and full of those big flashy moments that look straight out of the anime. The roster is huge and it’s awesome being able to recreate classic matchups or just throw random characters at each other. The what-if story paths are a cool idea and some of them are genuinely fun to play through. Graphics and sound are excellent on PS5 too. When everything clicks, it just feels right. Only reason it’s not a full 5 is the learning curve is pretty rough. The tutorial doesn’t do a great job explaining a lot of the systems, so I spent a while just figuring out how to properly fight instead of mashing buttons. Story mode also gets a bit repetitive after a while, and some of the modes feel like they could’ve used more depth. Still, if you’re a Dragon Ball fan who missed the old Tenkaichi games, this is an easy recommend. I’ve already put way more hours into it than I expected. ... show more
