Recently I've been really trying to pay attention to what I put in and on my body. And in that regard, the Squatch brand came highly recommended for the personal hygiene department. At first, when I was making the purchase, I was a little overwhelmed by all the scent choices. As a typical man, I didn't put too much thought into soap before. Soap was soap. So I just picked one of the 5-bar variety packs. Of course, the first thing you want to do though once receiving the box is "I want to smell them". And I was pleasantly surprised, and was looking forward to my next shower. So let's start with the scent then. Of the 5 flavors, here is my ranking from most to least favorite: 1) Wood Barrel Bourbon (WBB), 2) Coconut Castaway (CC), 3) Gold Moss (GM), 4) Birchwood Breeze (BB), 5) Fresh Falls (FF). And it's not like I didn't like FF. It just reminded me more like a standard soap smell. Whereas all the other scents felt more earthy or exotic. I asked my wife to smell too. So for her opinion, I did not get a complete ranking. But her most favorite was also the WBB. And her least was the GM. So anyway, WBB is the front runner in this house. Moving on. The next thing I did was review the ingredients. I use an app that scans the product and tells me, because there's no way I'm going to research each thing myself. So all 5 bars had high rankings. But it was interesting to find BB and CC had slightly lower marks due to the inclusion of titanium dioxide. The app labels this as low risk, and I'll let you look that up for the details. But the other 3 bars did not have it. So again, WBB comes out on top for me. Moving on. I have not been able to use all of them. But of course, I went straight for the WBB. Again it smells so good when I step into the shower. I can smell it even before starting to scrub. It seems to lather good. No complaints there. The first couple uses, it felt smooth on the skin. As it starts to wear down, I started to feel a bit of the grit in the soap. I don't find this as a bad thing. Just noticeable. Also, I think it wears down faster than normal soap. Could be why buying 5 bars at a time is the way to go. (As I thought at first, man, 5 bars of soap will last me a long time. But probably not now at this rate.) Also, the shape was odd to me. The square instead of the standard rectangular shape. It sat awkwardly in my soap dish for a bit. Until it wore down. Neither of those things is enough to mark any points off though. I am thoroughly happy with this soap. I look forward to trying more flavors. And I look forward to trying more Squatch products overall. ... show more

I love almost all the smells of these soaps, They all smell great. They do a great job at cleaning your skin and getting dead skin out, while still making your skin feel moisturized and healthy after use. The size and feeling of the bars is perfect for me, I do drop the soap quite a bit though (I am not currently using the Soap Gripper from them) I will admit sometimes it really hurts using this soap but it might just be me and that doesn't stop me from using it. ... show more

should make it bigger for the price . Skin feel fresh and clean. Really good aroma last long. Very refreshing , the quality is very strong. the Soap is very good just is small. Love the variety of fragrances they have very different and natural. Love it I recommend.

My husband and I love the method man exfoliating bar soap, so I was hoping to find a sampler pack/bundle with only grit soaps. I got the mountain man essentials and it only came with 1 zero grit soap so I am not totally disappointed. The others I believe had more than 1 zero grit soap in the bundle. 1 zero grit: spearmint basil 3 medium grit: eucalyptus Greek yogurt, wood barrel bourbon, Birchwood breeze 1 heavy grit: pine Tar The scents are very easy to see on the product page but was VERY difficult to figure out which packs had which type of grit included. Wish that was more clear and/or bundles were added for the specific grit type. I didn't want all one scent when I'm trying this brand out. ... show more
