I like that it breaks down. It may be heavy for some but doesn't bother me at all. Very sharp serrated blade and tears through roots and rocks. I use it primarily for metal detecting and have used it to dig through compacted clay with ease. A must buy.

So I haven’t read any reviews on this, so I’m not sure what people are saying. But my experience is that right away I noticed the threads are not smooth so to speak. They seem very course and difficult to thread. Could just be the shovel I have, and not the real case of the design that most people are experiencing, but I can only speak to the shovel in my hand. It’s very hard to get it. Threaded tight enough and align the handle with the actual shovel. And I guess I should’ve read the description better because this thing is heavy. I know that means it’s well made but when you’re humping it around all day metal detecting it’s pretty darn heavy. Anyhow, that’s just me griping.

This is a very solid shovel, easy to use. I really like that the center piece can be taken out to shorten the length and the way the connections screw together tightly. The spade is the perfect size and allows you to dig a hole and drop the plug back in when you are done. This is exactly what I have been looking for.

Shovel worked great. No issues digging. Extremely sturdy. I used without the handle extension to lighten the load. I tried the extension around my backyard and works well but in my opinion too heavy when hunting for a couple of hours. For the quality of this shovel, the price is an awesome deal.
