Description

With a sturdy, lightweight zig-zag sole, the new voss women's sandal by Dr. Martens has tons of classic doc's durability and tough attitude in an edgy- yet-comfortable wedge platform style. Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460. To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.

8 fits 8-8.5W. I got the solid black. I love the look--not clunky looking imo and no clunky walking! Shoe is light weight--gives nice height! The foot bed is very comfortable for me. There are two straps in the back that enable you to hold your foot a little forward or back so that it sits comfortably on the arch. The straps also let you secure skinny ankles. The front/toe is quite wide--maybe even too wide--but it isn't a problem because your foot is secured by the back. Still, I'd say these are for peeps with wide(r) toes. I've been wearing to the office, which lets me soften them up without too much walking all at once. Absolutely love them! They're comfy and fit true to size for me since I have a narrow foot. They're comfortable to walk in for long periods of time and they're super cute to pair with an outfit. Haven't had an issue at all with these sandals. Great for the summer! 10/10 def recommend getting these!

The media could not be loaded. I’ve been a loyal Dr Marten customer for years; I have many pairs of their boots, but this is my first time trying out their sandals. Doc does not disappoint. These are fantastic. I’m a size 10, purchased a size 10, and they fit perfectly. There are two adjustable straps- one on the top/outer side and one behind/outer side of the heel, allowing you the option for more/less wiggle room. The bottoms are treaded really nicely so the grip is great; you won’t be slipping on anything in these bad boys. The arch and heel support is unreal. I have plantar fasciitis, so this is a really important factor for me personally. They’re so comfortable. I took my dog for a LONG walk as soon as these came in, and it was like I was walking on a supportive cloud. They’re not squishy or anything; they’re just super supportive. These are very well constructed -like all Docs- and the design is nice. Not super fancy, but you could spruce it up and wear these with a cute outfit if you wanted. Not super casual, but comfortable enough to lounge around in. They’re in that sweet spot, making for a great staple shoe. The color is great, too. I ordered the Hydro, and they’re like a matte black finish, which looks real sharp. These are definitely made to last. Great sandal. I have a feeling I’ll be wearing these almost everyday this summer. I would definitely recommend these to anyone. They’re worth every penny in my opinion. ... show more

These sandals are comfortable and light! I wear a 9 in most shoes but opted for the 8 and they fit great. I’ve been wearing them regularly for the past few days and the break-in process hasn’t been too bad, I just needed to adjust the straps for a better fit. No blisters or bandaids so far! I really like how light these are, they’re soft on my feet and offer decent arch support. I think they will be a staple piece for me this summer! ... show more

These shoes are a terrible disappointment. I wore them for the first time a few days ago and the front of the shoes dug into my toes and I have huge blisters. They are supposed to be 100% leather but look and feel like plastic. I’m so tired of paying hood money for cheap garbage, doesn’t matter what the brand is anymore. I’m a 9.5 and got a 9, they fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I didn’t have any breaking in period with these, they were comfortable and walkable right out of the box. They go with almost everything, the black with yellow stitching look great as always, and they feel very supportive.
