Description

Creativity with a dose of chaos. The new Paint Splatter pack takes standout shades and dials them up with an additional layer of shine. Channel your fierce inner girl rocker with the 1460 boot from Dr. Martens. Its iconic leather upper is spiced up with vivid attitude while the thick lug sole puts that certain toughness in the silhouette. Lace up a perfect fit and hit the town like a rock star in this fun find. P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460. To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history. See more

  • Beautifully made
Size: 8 Women/7 Men Color: Cherry Red
Wonderful boots but I have to return them back The size was too big for me , maybe a 7 will fit.

  • Super cute
Never owned a pair and I wanted to get a feel for it..... No need to break in, wore around the house cleaning and needless to say they'll definitely be more than ok for a full day on your feet. Also this is mainly a floral print but there's some cow skulls in there if you enlarge the photo. I didn't even notice when I purchased but definitely didn't change my mind any once I did see them. They are super cute and comfortable considering it's a boot. ... show more

  • Same as ever...
Size: 11 Women/10 Men Color: Cherry Red
These boots are just like they always have been, and hopefully always will be. The leather is a little stiffer/thicker than the English boots of yesteryear. Also, the dye seems to penetrate deeper into the leather than the English boots of the past. I've been wearing Dr. Martens boots for about 20 years now. The fact that they are made in Southeast Asia hasn't materially effected the quality of the product. You couldn't buy these boots for $85 in the mid 90s. They take a little longer to break in, but that really is about it. The soles still feel great, and once they are fit to your feet they're your Docs. Please remember to properly size your boots prior to purchase. Reviews that say they are tight or are too big clearly haven't read the information on properly sizing Dr. Martens. I wear a 10.5 and have wide (4E) feet. I wear a 9(UK) size Dr. Marten. Ladies - The sizing chart works one more size down for you. If you're a lady's size 9 you need a 7(UK) size Dr. Marten. ***********Update I was having trouble getting these broken. I wore them for about three weeks straight and then put them into rotation with their brothers. I'd get to red boot day and they were a pain to wear. After figuring they just needed to be broken in more I started stuffing thick socks into the boots right after I took them off in hopes that being stuffed for two days would stretch them. There was some moderate success, but not enough. The pain that they were causing had me considering extreme measures. Rather than sending an email to Amazon or Dr Martens begging for a replacement pair I looked inside to find out what was causing so much pain. There was about 1/4 inch excess leather where the toe cap meets the tongue. Checked my two other pairs purchased in the last year and didn't find as much excess (actually almost none in one pair, and a broken in/soft 1/8 or less excess in the other pair.) At first I considered using a sharp utility knife blade to trim it down. Then I decided to try some 180 grit sandpaper wrapped around a 1 inch or so piece of dowel. After "sanding" the leather and continuing with the sock stretching I'm happy to report that all is well. It didn't take long and I only sanded where the excess was. After about 12 hours of wear yesterday they felt so much better. ... show more

  • AMAZING BOOTS FOR VERSATILE & RUGGED WEAR.
Size: 8 Women/7 Men Color: Cherry Red
These are amazing boots. Not only are they practical, they are stylish too! I bought these for my 12 YO daughter. She is of course at that awkward age where shoe choice is very important in terms of defining their identity. Anything to get her from wearing those horrid and vastly overrated Chuck Taylors by Converse. Come on! Those f&%cking shoes are bo-bos! Chuck Taylor wasn't even that good or memorable of a player! I of course had a pair in High School and a few years thereafter. I still have a couple pairs, but they aren't the "Air-Wear" variety. A bit more casual and dressy even. I'm from Generation X and it is cool to see my own daughter finding her little identity too. Now she can do it in style. We do recommend buying some shoe inserts for arch support. If I can only get my 17 YO son from thinking Air Jordan's are the best shoes money can buy..., ARGGGGGH! We'll save that fodder for another time. ... show more

Perfect fit! And being suede makes them soft and comfy. Great buy!

  • High quality but too narrow for me
These were fabulous but were too narrow for me. Other than that I would have kept them and worn them everyday.

  • I love Doc Martins!
Fit was standard to the brand but material is a little stiff because it is not made of leather/suede BUT the print is so beautiful. I look forward to wearing these tough but feminine boots all fall and winter.
