This shoe is amazing, as in all of docs! The canvas, however, arrived STIFF AF and I was wearing blisters for a month after the first 2 days. I purchased a couple of shoe heel protectors and stuck them in and then and only then, was it totally fine to break them in. They are excellent post wearing them in. Thick canvas, well made and constructed - repels moisture. The cork sole is comfy on my feet walking everywhere all day and not a sweaty hot mess in warm days (with some 20,000 steps). Seriously gushing over these now that they fit perfectly. So happy I bought these! They do fit true to size, seriously, but after the breaking in of the canvas. These look dressy or casual and are all I’m wearing to everything right now with jeans. May not hold up for 7+ years (like all my other leather Docs), but I can easily see 2-3 years of regular use if cared for and a new cork insole. Maybe even 5 before they look worn out around the ankle.

I'm an avid Doc wearer and have had these shoes (ordered the basic black) for 8 years now and they show no sign of dying anytime soon. I'm a pretty standard women's 8 1/2 (leaning more towards an 8 than 9), ordered these in the 6 UK (US 8) and they fit perfectly, even with my high arches. They were a little shinier than I'd have preferred when I first got them but they dulled down after a year or so of regular wear, which for me has been 2-3 times a week for at least 8 months out of the year. These are the real deal and I love the way they look with both jeans and work pants. If you want a pair of classic Docs, these are a great choice.

I love the shoes but have to do something about the inside of the heel so it doesn't tear the back of my foot to shreds. Which is why I only gave it 4 stars. They do run on the big side so I probably could have ordered at least a half size down without a problem. They are comfortable and sturdy.

I typically wear a size 9 and have wide feet. I took a chance and got these in size 8 and am happy I did. I definitely had to break them in, they were extremely painful and uncomfortable not gonna lie. At times when I took them off I felt like my feet regained feeling, and wearing them almost felt unbearable the first few days. Within a week or two of pretty solid wear I no longer have any discomfort at all. They’re super adorable and I get tons of compliments on them. My Doc boots are a size nine and noticeably looser, I did want these to fit better and appear less bulky for work and am happy to say that they stretched sufficiently as other reviewers mentioned. I did stuff really thick socks in them when not wearing also.

I really like these shoes, great fit right out of the box. I wore them all day and my feet felt great in them. This is a rarity for me as I have broken both feet and several toes in the past. The toe box on these are nice and wide. Heel is comfortable and does not slip while walking. The inside of the shoe is soft and feels great on your feet.

Get these babies in a size smaller and make them submit to the shape of your feet! That’s the way to go with leather. I’m a pretty solid 9.5 in shoes. I can sometimes wear a 9 when the cut is wider. So, I thought a 9 would be perfect in these. But when they came, they looked so big! They felt okay on, but I felt like they would stretch out to the point where they would be wayyyy to big and the back would flip up on me. So I returned them for an 8… and wow, those were super tight too. BUT I refused to let these beautiful babies go. I was DETERMINED to break them in. I got a $20 shoe stretcher on Amazon, let them sit overnight, and now… they are PERFECT. You could probably just do the hairdryer/sock method too if you’re patient… but the shoe stretcher worked marvels.

These shoes definitely bite back, but they are so pretty and I’ve had to wear them for a week straight just to get them to loosen a little. I’m thinking it’ll be months before they bend to my size. I ordered a woman’s 8 and they feel pretty tight to fit. I wouldn’t exactly recommend sizing up because that might cause blisters. Great for a job that allows some rest on your feet. I don’t recommend for someone that’s on their feet all day. I think they’d be unbearable. I’m keeping mine!
