Description

The 1460 Pascal with front zip is an 8-eye women's boot with tons of tough doc's attitude, including two ways to fasten — laces and a zipper. Can be worn as lace-up or jungle boot. 8-Eye lace fastening. Removable zip front facing. Medial zip entry. Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460. To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.

  • Convenient, stylish, comfortable
YAY zipperssss! I bought these boots to travel (many airports/countries) in and I like having something dependable on my feet but typical laced up boots can become a hassle when you’re on a time crunch....I know Bc I have other doc martens I’ve traveled in. But you have the best of both worlds here! So far I love the removable zipper. I broke them in over the weekend in Denver and we did A LOT of walking. I’m a 7.5-8 and I got the 8. I was so worried about the fit but it’s actually perfect !!!! My other docs are a 7 (The Leona vintage style boot) and fit perfect too so I would say that with this design maybe stay true to your size or go up a half size. I’ve worn thin ankle cut socks AND longer thick wool socks and the boots fit well and comfortably with both (that doesn’t usually happen). Yes, they can rough up your shin after many hours of wear but honestly that’s happened to me with every pair of short boots or even cowgirl boots I‘ve owned when I first get them. I think it has a lot to do with leg shape and how you walk. I recommend using the longer socks while breaking them in to avoid any irritation but they didn’t really bother much tbh. I absolutely love them and I get a lot of compliments!!! I also figured out a way to tie the laces so that they’re out of the way completely and I’ve uploaded pictures showing how I did it. ... show more

  • Great Boot
These boots are super comfy and cute! They came packaged nicely and in perfect condition. I am a size 10 and ordered a size 10. They fit perfectly. With reading the reviews I was concerned they would be too tight, but not at all. I don’t have narrow feet or calves so I am not sure why people find them squeezing their feet? I wouldn’t suggest ordering up myself. ... show more

  • Perfect fit!
These are my first pair of Dr. Marten boots and I’m so happy with them! They are nice and wide and are a little on the larger side of an 8 but I’m ok with that! They are like any other Docs and need time to soften up. I’ve been wearing them for about two weeks and they are finally giving a little. It’s going to take a few more weeks but they are so beautifully made, that it will be well worth the break in time! A definite buy if you’re thinking about them! ... show more

  • I am OBSESSED
I wanted these for sooooo long but they were always sold out in my size. They finally had a pair I could get and I have zero regrets. They are stiff at first, and the right one seems a little tighter than the left. I'm just wearing thin socks until I can get them broken in. The red is really dark and pretty subtle which I love. But I imagine they'll lighten up over time, which I'm also okay with. ... show more

  • Great shoes, top zipper works better than inside zipper
Love the look and feel. They’re kind of tight around the calf but I guess it’s just part of breaking them in. These are high quality shoes and are such a great value. Don’t waste money of knockoffs. Real Docs are preferred and this specific style is super cute. Note that there are long laces that must be tied up after these are zipped up. The inside zipper is pretty useless as I found it easier to use the middle zipper. Overall, worth it though. The fit is great. The shoe looks great on. I would definitely buy again if it was offered in a different color. ... show more

  • Are these fake?
Size: 5 Color: Black
I purchased these in January of 2025. I have been buying Dr. Martens for over 20 years. I currently own six pairs. I just bought a pair DIRECTLY from the Dr. Marten website. Upon opening my shoes I noticed there was no inside sole. The picture on the left (first picture) is showing the inside of my "new" Dr. Martens I JUST received today. The second photo is of the Dr. Martens I bought directly from their (Dr. Martens) website in December of 2024. Where is my insole or are these fakes? ... show more

  • Zippers saving time and serving looks
Super high quality Dr. Martens. I took the zipper plates off the top laces and only use the side zipper, which is VERY convenient and stylish. No more bending over and lacing your boots at the door awkwardly trying to leave a gathering. Zip and go. Note: if you have a tall or high arch to your foot, prepare for the agony of where the boot will press. I’m breaking them in and slowly seeing improvements, but as someone with a very curvy high arch to my foot - it is ROUGH. I remember being able to slide Coke cans into them to stretch the top in the late 1990s, but now where the toe box meets the laces they’re so low you can’t even get a can in there. Worth it though, in my opinion, once it breaks in!!! ... show more
