These Doc Marten boots are incredibly well made with high quality materials and an awesome solar flare design on the side which is embroidered and there’s not a single stitch out of place. They are exactly what I expected and look just like the picture and are as described in the listing. These are definitely made to last and I couldn’t be happier with them. I went with a size 8 since I have wide feet and want to wear thick socks with them and it was the right choice for me even though I wear a 7 or 7 ½ in gym shoes. Although I noticed since I'm getting older my feet continue to elongate so I wanted to have extra room not just for width but so I can wear them for longer and don't outgrow them. You can’t go wrong with these boots which look amazing with jeans, cargo pants and even great with shorts. These were listed at $170 when I ordered them but are being offered for 30% less right now at $119 and I think they’re well worth the full price and an incredible bargain at $119. The saying you get what you pay for is remarkably true especially when it comes to Doc Martens, these are durable, stylish, comfortable once broken in and far superior to many other brands and styles of boots (in my opinion). These would make a fabulous gift and are great for men or women and for adults and teens. Overall, I think they are true to size and definitely recommend them! ... show more

These are my second pair of docs, my first are 1914 Triumphs that I picked up in 2013 or 14. Comparing the two, these 1460s are SUPER stiff. The leather looks so perfect and supple though. The soles seem about the same and as far as I can tell, the stitch construction is super similar. Didn't notice any loose threads or stitch ends poking out. I was a bit concerned by the sizing since I am a womens 8.5w or 9 , and mens 7.5. Got the womens 9. Everything turned out fine! These are a good snug fit (with socks) that will break in with wear time. They may become a bit less stiff but I don't see them getting as soft/pliable as the 1914s. They're not tight anywhere on my feet, there's wiggle-room for my toes, but they're not loose either and can be tightened to stay perfectly in place with the laces. These laces don't seem extremely durable to me tbh but they held up to my tugging and should hold up at least awhile, but I'm going to keep a replacement pair handy. It's good to use your own laces anyways and these would be beautiful with white/silver ribbon laces or something like that. List Price at time of review: $170.00 This feels like A LOT. But... it's also really not that bad compared to other big brand names known for quality. Dr. Martens has been at it forever. Item Reviewed: Dr. Martens unisex-adult 1460 Solar Flare I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the fancy solar flare pattern on the boot, but I love everything about them. They fit well and that can be tricky with an online purchase. I can be a 7.5 or an 8 in boots. I got the 8 and they are perfect. I do wear wool socks (even here in hot Florida) especially with boots. The laces are pretty short but they work well for me and don't leave long laces hanging down in the way but with my slender calves and ankles, these boots lace completely together at the top for me so someone with wider legs might find the laces too short. Easy enough fix though. The leather is very nice, smooth, soft to the touch but super stiff on the uppers. No slouchy tops on these! The sole feels great, very comfortable for all day wear. I've been wearing them to work every day and switching out to my regular cowboy boots when I go to the barn to feed because these lug bottoms catch and hold all the lovely barn detritus. After having to sweep horse and chicken waste off my kitchen floor, I decided to keep them out of that area. They are really well built, stitches are deliberately visible and perfect. I feel like they will hold up really well to some pretty rough wear but they are pretty enough to save for any occasion. ... show more

I was genuinely surprised by how comfortable these boots are right out of the box. I expected a bit of that stiff, break-in feeling, but I didn’t get that harsh adjustment period I’ve experienced with other boots. I can wear them for hours and my feet still feel supported rather than tired or pinched. I love how they look with my jeans. They instantly pull my whole outfit together and make even a simple jeans and T-shirt day feel more intentional and styled. I find myself reaching for them more than I expected because they just work with so many of my casual outfits. The embroidered sun detail on the heel is one of my favorite parts. It adds a subtle but unique touch that makes them feel a little more special than a standard pair of boots. I notice small details like that, and it really adds to how much I enjoy wearing them. The quality feels solid and well made, exactly what I would expect from this brand. The stitching, structure, and finish all give me confidence that these will hold up well over time. Fit and comfort as you would expect from a classic cut pair of Doc’s but with added detail at the heel. Love the sun motif embroidered detail with studding at the back of these 1460’s and the white against black stitching. I’ve owned Dr. Marten’s for years so it’s nice to have unique options for dressing up or down to complete my look. Like most Docs you want to allow for a small break-in period but these ones were great from the start being not too stiff. The detailing is well applied and stitched and it appears that it will stand the test of time as you expect with the purchase of every pair.     • Feeling a bit nostalgic but with a modern touch

Back in the late 90s I practically lived in my Docs. I had classic 1460s, cherry red 20 eyes, Mary Janes, and wore them constantly, so getting another pair years later felt nostalgic. The design on these is not normally something I would pick, but once I saw them in person they were surprisingly cute. The embroidery and silver details stand out without looking too over the top, and they still keep that classic Dr. Martens look. The leather does feel a bit stiff right out of the box and the fit feels somewhat narrow. I definitely think these will need some breaking in before they become really comfortable. The quality feels solid and well made, and I like that they still have that durable classic Docs feel while adding a more unique design. I’m glad I got these. ... show more

You know you’re in for a high quality product when you shop with Dr Martens. This boot has the classic Dr Marten look to it, but with a beautiful design embroidered right on it. The design is super neat and clean so it looks great up close and from afar. They fit as true Dr Martens (so a little on the larger side of your size) but I wouldn’t size down. They’re a little roomier on the top of the foot than I’m used to but it’s not terribly noticeable. They are very comfortable once you break them in but that only takes a couple quick wears.
