Description

The first Dr. Martens Chelsea boot was produced in the 70s, but the actual style dates back to the Victorian era. Today, the 2976 Chelsea boot is a slick, uncompromisingly fashion-forward look for all genders. With a sure fit and an easy-on, easy-off elasticized gusset, it's a versatile boot that works with everything. The Chelsea is forged using one of the finest methods of construction: utilizing a Goodyear welt and heat-sealing it to the sole. This season, the boot gets an empowering boost from an aggressive, 1 1/2 inch platform sole.

  • Great fit, look and feel. Easy to put on and take-off.
Size: 14 Women/13 Men Color: Brown Crazy Horse
Great boots. They look and feel great. I have got several compliments when wearing them. I bought my and myself a pair. This is one of the most comfortable boots I have worn in a while. I wear them to work and off work. They slip on easy, take-off easy, and break-in very fast. I recommend these boots to anyone looking for a good quality boot. ... show more

  • Great Boot - See Comment
Overall-- Great Boot. This will be a detailed review, because I thought many other reviews were absolutely useless and unhelpful. I am a male, and had contacted the seller prior to ordering, because the title said "Women's Boot" (I understand this is a unisex boot) and I couldn't find healthy answers in the comments/questions sections. I ordered the size "12-12.5" in Gaucho Crazy Horse Brown. The seller informed me that this was indeed listed in MEN'S USA sizes, not women's sizes, so I purchased. Most of my shoe sizes are 12's, because a 12.5 almost doesn't exist. However, in many cases I wear 13 as well. The "12-12.5" listing is perfect, so order your baseline normal male size. The boot is roomy in the toe box, not tight fitting, which is how boots are supposed to fit. The Crazy Horse Leather is beautiful, although much darker than the pictures. I would easily classify this boot as a dark brown boot. For those unaware in the comments section, Crazy Horse Leather is a top of the line, full-grain oil/wax finished leather. This leather will easily scruff and scratch, and over time will develop a distressed look with a beautiful patina. If you don't want any scratches on your boots, don't get the crazy horse leather, unless you are fine buffing them out all the time. However, when they distress, a lighter copper color will emerge, creating an almost two-tone effect. This leather is exceptionally tough, and requires only minimal care with minimal wax. These boots also have a Good-Year Welt, creating an exceptionally durable, hard wearing boot. This welt is found on premium boots, eliminating the need for cheap gluing. This is my first pair of the "Chelsea" boot style, as I had previous only bought Lace-Ups, so the only thing I'm concerned about is the elastic on the sides, but time will tell (although my jeans always cover the elastic on sides anyways, I'm not a roll-up jean guy). For those saying the top of the boot is too narrow to get your foot in: you don't put these on like normal shoes. Angle your foot parallel as you enter, then twist the boot on straight. SUPER EASY. It takes two second to put these Chelsea's on rather than untying and tying lace-ups. As far as break-in, these are pretty much good to go out of the box. I'm getting a little stiffness on the very top of the uppers at my shin, but after a couple days of wear this will disappear. When wearing high socks it is barely noticeable now anyways. These are not dainty, thin & dressy boots. They are more for everyday wear, built wider and more rugged. I recommend. ... show more

  • An ideal winter boot: insulated, waterproof and easy to slip on
I hadn't worn Doc Martens since I was in my 20s, but saw these while I was looking for winter boots that didn't LOOK like winter boots. They don't have half sizes, so my fit advice is that you will most likely wear the same size as you do in a sneaker, which is larger than your foot would measure on the Brannock device. For example, my foot measures about 12.25/12.5 on the Brannock device in the store, but the 12 was too small, the 13 just about perfect. The leather is a little stiff at first, but breaks in quickly as the sole is soft and spongy. These are very comfortable, easy to put on, keep my feet dry in the winter while shoveling and even were warm enough for the polar winters we get here in Minneapolis. I consider these boots to be an attractive and affordable option to traditional clunky winter boots, and recommend them highly. ... show more

  • Get your true size!!
Size: 7 Women/6 Men Color: Multi
I am a true 8 and the 7 in these fit perfectly (see bottom of this review for how I later changed my mind), still roomy even though I do not have a particularly narrow foot. You will definitely need a full size lower if you're a whole size, for half sizes just choose the nearest size down as I think sizing down an entire size and half would have been too small. For anyone concerned about whether these are authentic, mine are leather and the construction is quality - seems like you will get the real thing. They will definitely be tough to break in. You will want long socks or the tops will chafe. Moderately heavy but they're platform and that's typical for Docs anyway. I got them on Prime Day for $60 and to me that's well worth the money! I will update this review if breaking them in is too hard but for now I'm happy with the purchase. Edit: breaking them in was way too hard :') I sold them on Poshmark and got a different style (Jadon III boot) in an 8 (my true size), which has chafed way less. Get your true size, they're just a really roomy fit which made me think I needed to size down. ... show more

  • Cute, but chuinkier than expected, and weird sizing..
Size: 6 Women/5 Men Color: Multi
Super cute. These are definitely a matte white leather. I'm typically a 6.5 or 7 in women's shoes, so I ordered both a size 6 and 7. The 7's were huge. Challenging to get on, and I had way too much extra room by my toes. The 6's fit much better after you yank them on and pound your foot against the gound to actually get your foot all the way in. Strange feeling to walk in, very stiff..so much so that I don't know if I'll ever be able to break them in because at the moment they feel too awkward to walk around in, as if on going to catch the front of the boot and trip with one wrong step. Not like a normal shoe where you can easily step heel to toe while walking. Doesn't help that I live in freezing climate, feels like the rubber bottom just freezes too. I am keeping these and will try to wear them in the spring, bought a different pair of patent white booties similar to these, but much more comfortable, for this winter. ... show more

  • Disappointed
Initially I really liked these, and I still do enjoy the fit and comfort, however after VERY light use over less than a year they are already falling apart. I take good care of my shoes-- I own two pairs of Redwings, two pairs of Nikes, a pair of Solomon's, and I've owned various vintage Doc Martens-- so make no mistake when I say that there were well cared for and lightly used. The stitching should not be coming undone as seen in the pictures. They're not cheap (not as expensive as my other leather shoes, but still not cheap by any stretch) so I expect quality. Stear clear of these. ... show more
